The hosts, Roberto and Guiseppe, are wonderful. They are welcoming, kind and very knowledgeable about the Sulmona area as well as operating their hotel in a completely professional manner - they always put their guests first. The location is right in the historic centre of Sulmona, so close to all of the towns interesting sites, to plenty of cafe and restaurant options, and to the marvellous social activity of promenading. Our room was very well appointed with plenty of storage and a very comfortable bed. The breakfast was fresh and delicious and served by Roberto and Guiseppe.
Roberto made the time to take us out on an expedition which we could not possibly have achieved without his help.
A few steps from the main square in Sulmona, B&B Il Marchese del Grillo offers air-conditioned rooms with free Wi-Fi. Housed in an 18th-century building, it features a panoramic terrace.

Such a special place - the room, the terrace, the welcome, the attention to detail in everything is wonderful. Hard recommend. Also Sulmona is a treasure of a find. Great spot for a few days.

The property was stunning! Domenico was so warm and welcoming and a delight to converse with. He made us feel right at home. The view of the mountains is spectacular!
These hotels offer something a little different in the way of design and usually sit in a trendy, urban part of town. More intimate than your average hotel, they offer high standards with a homely vibe.
This is a beautifully appointed, well designed apartment, centrally located for exploring Sulmona and the surrounding area, but quiet and relaxing in the evening.
The host was charming and extremely helpful, even giving me a lift to the train station on my departure.
I would not hesitate to re-book for another stay!
This is a lovely B&B conveniently located near the centre of Sulmona. The rooms are beautifully converted and spotlessly clean. The breakfast room is most attractive and there is a balcony with a stunning view of the mountains. Dante was a kind, gentle and considerate host whom we very much enjoyed meeting. We would definitely return.
The hosts Vito and Monica were wonderful. The house is delightful, superbly equipped and very well designed. Bed really comfortable - heating excellent and great outdoor space. Very secure home. Hosts went out of their way to be helpful - thank you so much. The house is perfectly situated on a quiet road just outside Sulmona.
The place is so beautiful and lovely! Marta is a great host. The room is comfortable and well designed, the breakfast is very tasty and generous.
The view from the top is wow!
A stunning B&B in the heart of our favourite town in Abruzzo! The historic architecture and stylish decor are very special. In addition, the property is in a perfect location and Marta was the perfect host :)
Little piece of heaven, gorgeous historic house in a lovely garden. So tranquil, the best night's sleep we have had in Abruzzo. Very generous breakfast, everything spotlessly clean and a well equipped kitchen. Thoughtful and professional host
We were very proud to be the first guests to stay at this lovely house. We were given a very warm and friendly welcome. The house is very spacious and absolutely immaculate and very well appointed. 5 star accommodation! The location is perfect for walking into the centre, about 20 minutes but it is as the time, very peaceful with a lovely view of the old town and mountains. Breakfast was really fresh and all made locally with great coffee and tea for us English.
The central location making it easy to just walk everywhere once the car was parked.
The friendly welcome from Martha, an excellent hostess
The cool and spacious room with great air con and a lovely English racing green bathroom . Not for you if you like modern uncluttered room interiors.
Most of all the stunning rooftop patio and the breakfast that was served there
