Opened in 2012, Solaria Nishitetsu Hotel Kagoshima is just a 2-minute walk from JR Kagoshima-Chuo Train Station and features a French restaurant and massage services.

The location of the hotel is ideal- right next to the bus and train station, as well as the mall, making it easy to get around. The rooms are on the small size, but fairly typical for Japan, but if travelling with more than one large suitcase it's a little tight. The bed was a little on the firmer side, but I requested more pillows on account of being pregnant which they brought up to the room for us. Staff were friendly and helpful, check in and out is simple and our room had an amazing view of Sakurajima. There is also an amazing bakery right around the corner which is perfect if you haven't got breakfast included.
Featuring 4 food & drink options, an outdoor tea bath, 2 saunas and hot-spring baths, Hotel Kyocera is a 5-minute drive from JR Hayato Train Station.

It is a beautiful hotel. I loved the main elevator and the cute wedding chapel. Also, the view of Sakurajima from our room was amazing.
Their buffet was fantastic. There were so many choices and all of the food was delicious.
These hotels offer something unique in terms of design and are usually set in a trendy, urban part of town. Blending high standards with a homey vibe, boutique hotels are more intimate than your average hotel.
So new and beautifully designed. Room was amazing. Every little detail thought of. Onsen was wonderful. Spa and massage was the best I’ve had in a long time. Staff so helpful and friendly
Staying for 2 nights, sampling the inhouse onsen, the gym, the cafe and the Japanese restaurant, my family of 10 enjoyed the experience. The fine details were well observed, from reusing the pyjamas and the bed sheets to abide to the current ESG standards, to the wooden themed interior designs are delicate touches. We stayed with Sakaru jima which I gladly observed the morning we left for departure.
The building itself seems like a whole project consist of cafe, gallery and hotel, wonderful view from the communal balcony, very stylish and comfort interior design. We felt very very lucky to have gluten free muffins for breakfast! They are really well made.
EVERYTHING!! Faultless presentation. Classy, stylish and welcoming. The view and drinks on the 19th floor…stunning. Best buffet breakfast and dinner…ever (hand made personalised sashimi station). Will definitely return.
For the normal compact sized room it was well designed. Gorgeous view of volcano from our room. So convenient to bus, train and trams. Staff were exceptionally helpful when we had a problem. Dealt with it quickly and so efficiently. Lawsons at ground level had a huge array of very good snacks. Liked being able to buy egg sandwiches for breakfast.
