Absolutely exceptional. The history almost jumps at you through the walls.
The staff were kind and attentive. Apparently Japanese people come here just to take photos and tours of the hotel.
Everything was beautiful, elegant, and definitely one of the highlights of our trip to nikko
The snow made everything even more magical.
These hotels offer something a little different in the way of design and usually sit in a trendy, urban part of town. More intimate than your average hotel, they offer high standards with a homely vibe.
Expect rooms of a four star hotel with the typical amenities such as wonderful duvets, thick towels, kettle and tea/coffee, minifridge, nice smelling toiletries, etc.. Interior design is aesthetic and adapted to the surroundings. I liked the common area which was light and cozy and easy to start conversation with other guests. Staff was professional and helpful when my key card did not work.
Very clean & room comfortably designed. Modern fittings. A small boutique like hotel with minimal facilities. Free coffee at lobby area was good. We were prepared for no breakfast option so it was OK. Staff helpful in recommending eateries/restaurants. As we had a car, commuting was no problem. It was a relaxing stay.
Our traditional tatami-matted Japanese room was beautifully designed with the most comfortable futon beds of our entire trip, and a foot-warming table with a lovely view over a babbling brook into woods with deer wandering through. Izumi made us delicious breakfasts too - traditional Japanese as well as western-style.
The hotel is beautiful - looks and feels new, modern, great design, spacious rooms. Beds are big and comfortable. There was an electric kettle and a fridge in the room as well as mugs/beverages. The hotel has a small store to buy basic products, including food, there is also a microwave for guests' use. The lounge is where you can meet other guests and chat a bit, a lovely space.
Beautiful stay!
Izumi was incredibly helpful and accommodating when welcoming me to the Nikko area, with an explanation of the main attractions and pick-up service from the train station. The accommodation itself is perfect for solo travellers. It had a lovely view, heating in the winter and a traditional Japanese design that was very serene and homely. Breakfast was also delicious and generously served. I highly recommend B&B Izumi to anyone travelling to Nikko.
This is a lovely, brand new, well designed hotel, in a modern meets Japanese style with nicely designed and comfortable rooms. None too specious if you have large suitcases but fine, you didnt come to Nikko to sit in a room all day ;). Plenty of free parking space if you have a rental car. By car, the Toshogu shrine is 10 minutes away, maybe 15 if you get stuck behind some touring cars.
Impressive architecture!
Very beautiful interior design.
Very clean everywhere.
The staff was very kind and very keen to assist us.
The location is perfect if you want to spend a short amount of time surrounded by nature.
The Hotel Marriott at Nikko was delightful in every way, lovely design in the rooms, the lobby etc. The rooms had lots of space and the shower was excellent!
Everything was lovely, very clean, spacious and well-designed room, comfortable bed. The staff were exceptionally friendly and helpful. Highly recommended!
Modern Japanese interior design, clean, comfort, nice staff, laundry (charge applied) available if you needed.
