This was our second stay at Hotel Monterey in Sendai and we have enjoyed this hotel. The staff are great, parking is easy and it is close to everything. The Onsen upstairs is a very nice benefit as well.
These hotels offer something unique in terms of design and are usually set in a trendy, urban part of town. Blending high standards with a homey vibe, boutique hotels are more intimate than your average hotel.
The room was very comfortable, well-designed, and surprisingly spacious (the largest of our Japan trip by far, and shockingly also the cheapest!). The self check-in procedure was quick and easy. There was also a well-maintained coin laundry room.
Location near Sendai station is super convenient.
We were only there for a one-night stopover, but I would have gladly stayed for longer.
The exterior and interior design of the hotel makes you feel that you are in 70/80s.
You are able to spot the hotel building once you step out of West exit of Sendai station and it’s within 10mins walk.
There is a magic box that steams your clothes so no ironing! Ok its an LG Styler but still my first time using it. Stylish design, comfortable room. It was discounted so good value. Its main entrance on a busy shopping street so easy to find food etc.
The rooms were really well designed and comfortable. The place was modern and stylish. It was located very close (e.g. 300m) to the Sendai station on the eastside (seems to be more quiet and peaceful compared to the westside). There is a convenience store on the ground floor. The staff were really professional and friendly. The price was great value for the busy time of year.
I loved the interior design, which was a mix of traditional Japan & modern architecture. i am inspired to decorate my future guest room in a similar style.
