This historical Arabian-style building is located in the UNESCO-listed town of Lamu. It is less than 300 metres from the seafront and 3 km from the white sandy beach.

Great historical building with an amazing Swahili architecture. We came back to Lamu after two years and even though we browsed a little bit, there was no other place that we rather wanted to stay at. Perfectly located behind the Fort, right behind the main square, Subira is easy to find, offers the greatest views and privacy.
Everyone working there made our stay a true pleasure. Absolutely loved it, also this time.
Some part of the downstairs area is now a café for the public which invited people during the day – really nice touch that makes it more lively.
These hotels offer something a little different in the way of design and usually sit in a trendy, urban part of town. More intimate than your average hotel, they offer high standards with a homely vibe.
The decor and design, the hotel was stunning with beautiful decor all over. It had a beautiful courtyard that our room overlooked.
Perfect location in rhetorical heart of lamu with a stunning view of the water.
The staff were all so kind and helpful. The barman made the best cocktails! Food was great, breakfast was an incredible feast, recommend the Swahili breakfast.
An oasis-like escape from the hustle and bustle of Lamu Town right outside its doors. Lovely and helpful staff. Well-kept and well designed facilities. Multiple pools to choose from for a daily swim.
The hotel is fully equipped with everything you need from fresh towels, body lotion and shampoo. Also if you go swimming often, they even have a hair drier. I loved the comfortable beds with good mosquito nets. More so, the hotel is very beautiful with Swahili architectural designs and furniture. During our stay, the staff were very kind and the Swahili breakfast was delicious.
Jivanjee was so helpful in linking us to affordable services such as dhow rides and helped us in anything we needed.
Beautiful boutique hotel with large spacious rooms done up in a gorgeous Swahili style and a massive common area, right in the heart of Lamu Old Town's narrow roads. Safari, Johnson and Abu are really great. Safari in particular went out of his way to help us make our stay amazing, such as finding us a dhow captain to organise a private dhow trip. I'd 100% recommend Andavelo House for your Lamu stay.
The hotel and grounds are absolutely gorgeous. Full of beautiful and well designed nooks to explore. The new construction makes it a little disjointed but still lovely.
Fantastic hotel with lovely staff, beautifully designed rooms and delicious food. Everything was perfect - wish I could have stayed longer!
