Uruapan is a very Mexican working town, without a lot of tourists. It is where avocados from the surrounding agricultural areas are processed and shipped out. There is a wonderful mercado a 15-minute walk away. The hotel is quiet and has a lovely inner courtyard. There is also a little restaurant inside the hotel run by a woman who was raised in rural Michoacán, who serves excellent traditional food. All is new,clean& pretty.the beds are heavenly comfy.the kitchen is new&well equipment even with Coffee.its 2 blocks to the center parc. Great base to explore the nationalpark, the volcano and the guitar building village paracho.the museums are great too.
