With spectacular views of the Douro River, this 4-star hotel offers an outdoor pool along with spa facilities. It is surrounded by hectares of vineyards and protected forests.

Good location, close to river and train station with several trains per day. Good breakfast with plenty of choices. Good restaurant where you can eat for a reasonable price and good quality (wines are expensive though!). If you book with a discount, you get good prices. Indoor swimming pool, sauna and turkish bath also with good conditions if you want to relax.

Traditional stone cottages and buildings, which was interesting. Host was thoughtful regarding my husband’s need for minimal stairs. Relaxed attitude to guest’s pets.
