Nice hotel and loved the music theme. Most of the staff were excellent, even down to the bellboys and the service staff, it's the management which let this place down. I found one manager in particular rude and arrogant when I wanted to check my car ($95 valet service!) for an additional bag I left in it - was told I must walk 4-5 blocks to the garage as they couldn't even make the call to see it was still inside- "not policy" apparently. For this reason, I wouldn't stay again - if this is the attitude of management.
These hotels offer something unique in terms of design and are usually set in a trendy, urban part of town. Blending high standards with a homey vibe, boutique hotels are more intimate than your average hotel.
good value for money in NYC, a 20 min drive to the ferry to get to Manhattan, nice, contemporary lobby design, comfy beds, window in room opens some if you don't want to use AC; good, plentiful breakfast, free parking.
Although I did not get to stay for breakfast, I had a great one night stay here. The caretaker was incredibly kind and upgraded my room free of charge upon arrival. Although there is only street parking, there was ample availability. The room itself was very clean and had a stunning view of the harbor and city. I slept with the windows open and got to listen to the waves crash against the shore all night! For the price, location, and customer service, I would absolutely stay again.
The owner did a great job on the renovation of the house ,she was very friendly and knew alot about the history of the property and about interior design and renovation I really enjoyed chatting with her during breakfast
The innkeeper was very pleasant and helpful. The bed (king) was huge, could fit 3 adults in it and very comfy. In the room was a TV, lamps, place for clothes and fridge, very useful.
Breakfast was very nice, good selection of fruit, pastries, oatmeal, bread, juice, tea and coffee.
Lovely view from front of house.
Shared bathroom was clean and spacious and just across hall.
