The hotel is located about half a mile from the town centre (Staunton is not large) in a residential part of town. There is little going on in the immediate vicinity. The main house is rather run down on the outside, but OK inside. As its name implies, the hotel's theme is a mixture of Thai and Victorian - which is a rather odd combination. I like Thai food and have spent a couple of years living in a neighbouring country - and I normally enjoy staying in old properties; but this did not quite work. The hotel rooms have a very cluttered feel.
We had our evening meal in the Thai restaurant attached to the hotel. It was OK and not expensive, but not memorable. The breakfast was also OK. It was Thai-style cooking; there was no choice.
These hotels offer something a little different in the way of design and usually sit in a trendy, urban part of town. More intimate than your average hotel, they offer high standards with a homely vibe.
Staff very welcoming, showed genuine interest & informative!
Eventhough hotel was under renovation, guests were isolated from construction area. Designated guest areas were clean and quiet.
Breakfast options were very good.....REAL fresh brewed coffee hot entrees, bagels, yogurt, waffles, fruit, etc. (another Sleep Inn on my trip offered machine coffee, and only waffles or cold cereal)
The property was incredible! Spacious, beautifully decorated and just perfect in every way! Even having seen the gorgeous pictures we weren’t prepared for how great the space would be. Truly a highlight of our trip! For the price, it felt almost too good to be true.
Lovely looking building and our room was cosy in what, I think, is the newer end of the building. It's in a beautiful little city and has great eating options close by. Beds comfy, room cosy, safe and definitely worth the money - good value. Friendly staff.
this is no 5 star hotel, but is very good value for the money, its a lovely town with some brewries close by , we stayed there one night arv 19:00 and dprt 09:30am and it ok for us
