The castle hotel is located inside the fortress of Berat, built between the 4th to 13th centuries. The fortress is stunningly well preserved and highly deserves its UNESCO world heritage status. It is filled with quaint traditional restaurants, cafes, shops, and stunning panoramic mountain vistas. Hotel Klea has its own restaurant and bar with delicious traditional food, especially the generously sized breakfasts.

The location of the house is excellent. It's about a 20 minute walk uphill to the fortress, and a 5 minute walk to the old part of Gorica. The old Ottoman-house feel was great. The breakfast on the terrace is probably the best in Berat and I would definitely return. The hosts were very friendly and accommodating.
