Best hotel in Lugano! Excellent breakfast. Beautiful view. Pool and lake fantastic. Nice staff. Great location close to funicular ride to Monte Bre, ferry to Gandria, Paradiso and other places by the Lugano Lake, the beautiful Parco Ciani and Lugano Centro with a lot of excellent restaurants, shopping and cafe's. You can easily walk. If you prefer to take the bus its for free (Ticino Pass from the hotel) and taxi is not expensive in my opinion.

The Hotel&Hostel Montarina occupies a historic Villa built around 1860, only 200 metres from the Lugano train station. Everything about it was great. I've reached a bit late for the check-in found a really nice lady that helped me with everything and explained to me what to do. You will have to put a cash deposit for the key (20 euros or something similar) don't worry if you don't have cash you can just give her something to hold onto like a licence or your id. It was very comfortable, there was privacy in between the beds and the place is gorgeous. I didn't go to the swimming pool as i had a little inconvenience however there's a very nice pool there and it's lovely overall. Enjoyed it !

The family-run Continental Parkhotel is located 200 metres south of the main railway station of Lugano, where the funicular leaves regularly for the city centre. Located 800 metres from the Lugano Exhibition Centre and 1 km from the lake, Hotel City Lugano is a modern, non-smoking building with stylish and air-conditioned rooms. Best stay in our trip to Switzerland. Very clean room/bathroom which makes the biggest difference! Great breakfast!
