The pools on the hotel area are great and it is very nice to have Iguanas and birds around. Very spacious little huts with no close neighbors. Very friendly staff. Located 14 km from Arenal Volcano National Park, Lomas del Volcan offers lush gardens, an outdoor pool and a hot tub. Each air-conditioned cabin has free Wi-Fi and flat-screen cable TV. When we arrived I saw one of the most breath taking views ever. The volcano is so close and makes a crazy impression. I could just stare at it. I wish we could stay longer. Such a peaceful and calm environment, breath taking view on the volcano, well maintained gardens, fantastic pool. So much wildlife- we could hear hundreds of birds all the time. I recommend visiting nearby restaurants as there are so many just a few minutes away. The only thing I didn’t like was a dinner at the hotel restaurant- it was expensive and really not too tasty. Very „Americanized” menu. I would rather have something local and simple. Breakfasts were wonderful though.
