Our plane arrived several hours late at 1:30am and they were still waiting for us. The rooms were spacious, clean and comfortable. The staff were helpful.

Located in the centre of San José, Fleur de Lys offers individually decorated rooms set in a Victorian mansion. It features an attractive terrace, gardens and a restaurant. I love the location being 500 steps from my favorite restaurant. Also the whole vibe of the place is excellent with it being a former house.

Hotel Palma Real is set in San José, 400 metres from La Sabana Park, home to the Costa Rica National Stadium. The hotel offers a gym, free Wi-Fi and free parking. This is our go-to hotel when visiting San Jose. Breakfasts excellent - and lots of options. No Gluten Free allowance though. Staff always courteous and ready to assist with questions. Special shout-out to their long time concierge who is one of the best!
