NH Gran Hotel Casino de Extremadura is next to the Guadiana River, 10 minutes’ walk from Badajoz city centre and Alcazaba Fortress. It offers free WiFi and houses the Gran Casino de Extremadura. The facilities are excellent, the room was quiet (with a nice view of the Guadiana river) and the location was also very good (close to the bridge that leads to the old town). But the highlight was the amicability and professionalism of its staff, particularly DAVID at the reception who went out of his way to give us a nicer room and much earlier than the standard check-in time. This is the attitude that differentiates certain hotel staff from others, and DAVID's attitude in pleasing the customer is rated at the top of his profession. I congratulate NH Extremadura for the quality of its staff, as represented by DAVID.

The house and garden are beautiful as is the town! The views from the lovely first floor terrace over the garden and out to the hills were magical. This is a family home now converted to rooms with bathrooms and is a family-run business. There is obvious attention to small details - and we enjoyed meeting Amos, who grew up in the house and gave us a tour of the house and garden, and manages it with his parents, as well as his father and Pascal who works there. A really special place! We were sorry we could not stay more than one night. And the Via Verde above the town is stunning to bike and walk.

Each room is jazz themed, Lola and Pepe and the lady who does the breakfasts are friendly and chilled and the rooms are clean and comfy. A lovely place!

Everything looked like the photos, very beautiful, very clean, almost exquisite. Quiet and peaceful. Really cosy and comfortable. I like this kind of nice renovations in old houses were you feel the soul of the construction and then the good taste of the renovation. The owners were nice, mainly the lady, Carmen always with a smile on her face.

Featuring free WiFi throughout the property, RSI Apartamentos is located in Merida, just 300 metres from the Roman Theatre. It offers apartments and suites with air conditioning. It is great location. Value for money is good. Staff is available through phone always. Room is good, sofa bed is also comfortable and fits 2. The place has all the amenities and we will definitely return here if traveling to Merida. Really close to a supermarket (Dia) and a children's park.

Featuring a shared swimming pool and sun terrace, Hospederia Valle del Jerte is located in Jerte. This hotel offers an on-site restaurant and bar. Free WiFi is available in all areas. Lovely place and very well kept. Excellent personal attention, food and pool.
