Located in the picturesque village of Hathersage, 10 miles from Sheffield, The George offers free WiFi. The building and the rooms are gorgeous, located perfectly on the Main Street with a bus stop right outside and a close walk to the train station. The food was amazing, highly recommend eating there, and the staff were very accommodating. The lady who checked us in and was also our server, Maya, was incredibly friendly and helpful, thank you! We would love to return to The George

We loved that it was only 4 rooms, so it was very exclusive and private. Ivan is a literal fountain of knowledge on all things Peak district. The rooms were clean and quaint, but with modern bathroom amenities. Ivan and Francesca went the extra mile for us on the day of our check-out. We had to leave earlier than expected, before breakfast, and requested a cold sandwich to take with us on our return, but Ivan and Francesca came in the evening before gave us loads of pastries, yoghurt and other snacks to take with us. Didn't have to make a food stop on the way back. The gardens are also very well kept and loads of character. There are birds, badgers (harmless) and a cat on the grounds. We also loved the balcony seating, though it is a bit old. The view from the balcony is breathtaking.

The room looks newly refurbished, smells luxurious and is super cozy. Loved the attention to details. The free (and delicious) cake is a lovely touch. Will definitely come back here next time we are around Peak District

Ellen House has a lot to offer - very friendly and knowledgeable hosts, spotlessly clean rooms and common areas, parking (which is very hard to find in Matlock), a very convenient location - a short walk from everything and generally just a lovely place to stay. The breakfast was freshly prepared to order and delicious. Homemade preserves with breakfast were a special treat as were the home made flapjacks (YUM) in our room each day. Ellen House is also very close to the train station if that is how you travel.

On the edge of The Peak District, this modern, boutique hotel boasts stylish rooms with LED TVs and countryside views. Loved everything about it. Cosy stunning venue. Rooms spacious. Finishing touches like “real” milk in the mini bar to make a cup of tea, instead of the usual sachets. Food in the restaurant was 10/10. Staff couldn’t do enough to help.

I've always wanted to stop on a boat and decided to book this for my Husband's birthday. It is ideally located in Sheffield city centre. It's a short walk from the train station and the main shopping area. The owner sent very clear instructions on how to get here .The boat was very clean and comfortable. The heaters were on when we arrived so it was lovely and cozy and there are blankets to get snuggled on the sofa. The bed was really comfortable. We got woken up by the ducks the next morning. It was just a lovely place to stay
