Ryokan Asunaro: A Traditional Japanese Inn in Takayama. Nestled just a 6-minute walk from Takayama Station and the Nohi Bus Center, Ryokan Asunaro offers an authentic Japanese inn experience. The building is historical, and the rooms are beautiful. The breakfast is a perfect Japanese experience. The staff are friendly, and have plenty of English to give useful advice.

Excellent location near Takayama station, attentive staff, great onsen facilities and breakfast. There isn't much to do in Takayama after a certain hour in Winter but that is ok, since the ryokan has a very inviting area where you can relax, read, try calligraphy and origami, have some tea... I left my mobile phone in the room and enjoyed the entertainment provided there, completely agnostic of the outside world. Great way to disconnect!

Located just a 1-minute walk from popular Miyagawa Morning Market in the heart of Takayama, Sumiyoshi Ryokan offers homely Japanese-style accommodation in the historic townhouse building. It feels like home, away from home. The breakfast was amazing. The place is very cozy with the warm smile of the people running the place. They have a nice private bath which is a good experience to try. The location is near the morning market and Miyagawa river. Everything is fantastic!

Located in the centre of Takayama Historic District, Ryokan Tanabe 旅館 田邊 is one of the most historical ryokans in the city. It features Japanese-style rooms and free WiFi in all areas. Amazing experience in this Ryokan. We had a nice kaiseki dinner in the room. The room is very spacious, the futons are also comfortable. We were spoiled in this place. Location is also top, close to everything.

Situated at the heart of historic Takayama Old Town and just steps away from Takayama Jinya Morning Market, the traditional Honjin Hiranoya Kachoan offers personalised hospitality, hot spring baths... Staff are very kind, the service is great and we loved the authentic atmosphere.

Hida Takayama Hodakaso Yamano Iori is just a 3-minute walk from JR Takayama Train Station and a 10-minute walk from Old Town and Takayama Jinya and Miyagawa Morning Market. Right when we walked in we knew we had exactly what we wanted with a very traditional Japanese experience. The lady who runs the place is very lovely and offers self serve coffee upon arrival and departure. Our room was very comfortable and plesant and the location is very close to all amenities.

Takayama Ouan sai 2014. aastal TripAdivsor’ilt tunnustuse "Certificate of Excellence". Majutusasutus on traditsioonilise Jaapani disainiga ja kõik põrandad on kaetud punutud mattidega (tatami). Breakfast buffet was amazing - even if a bit expensive. Free Ramen in the evening was also nice, but the highligh is definitely the onsen - both the private one and the public bath.

Ideally located just a 2-minute walk from JR Takayama Station and Shirakawa-go Bus Terminal, this hotel boasts a natural hot spring bath where guests can unwind. Free Wi-Fi is available in all areas. Small but amazing hotel in the heart of Takayama. The hotel is located a few minutes walk from the railway station and the downtown. The check-in was fast and easy, the staff explained in detail all facilities and services offered by the hotel. The room was tiny but comfortable, very clean. The breakfast was simply amazing, with many different dishes and drinks to choose from. Last but not least I really enjoyed the hotel hotel springs at the ground floor.
