Wellé Wadiya meaning 'Beach Hut' is a tropical boutique hotel offering a swimming pool and set on the best kitesurfing beach of the Kalpitiya Kitesurfing zone. The hotel offers direct access to the beach and free WiFi access is available in the rooms and public areas. Guests can kitesurf on the beach. We had a great time here. The hosts were kind and demonstrated true Sri Lankan hospitality. The food was excellent, The staff were kind. in particular the pol sambol (made in the traditional way).

Gorgeous place. Loved the pool surrounded by coconut trees, lovely seating looking out to the marsh/ lagoon. Can walk to the beach from the property but have to walk further on to the nicer parts of the beach. Rooms very tasteful design and amazing outdoor bathroom. Super clean. Food was also incredible. A lot of options and very good quality. Staff were very helpful and lovely. Would definitely come back !

No luxury, but all the essentials. Totally chill vibes. very nice staff. Lovely breakfast, lunch and dinner. Off-season so the domain was like ours! Good for those who like “off the beaten track”.

Our favorite part of this trip by far was our naturalist, Sumith. What a lovely man - he knew so much about the natural world around us and was able to answer any questions we had. He also was just such a sweet and conscientious person and would do anything to make our family feel at home and comfortable. The rooms were also very well designed.
