I felt like I was in a museum. I loved being able to appreciate the details of the construction of these traditional houses up close. I loved being surrounded by frangipanis and pandan trees. The food is superb and the staff are really friendly and helpful. You won't have all the comforts you would have in a modern resort, so this is more for people who can really appreciate this place and the experience it offers. Do some research about it, about the person behind it and what the project entails, and you will enjoy your experience to the fullest. The rooms and facilities were exceptionally clean. The location is great: Penarik is a quiet village with friendly people and lush nature. It is probably best for people who have a car because it is a bit remote and it isn't easy to get a Grab to pick you up there, but we didn't have a car and still enjoyed our time there. They have bikes that guests can borrow although they could use some maintenance. It is also a bit far from the nearest jetty (about 20min by car). Staff can help you arrange transportation and trips to Redang but this option is not very cost-effective. Overall, we loved our stay at Terrapuri! For us, it was great to disconnect and enjoy slow days, and learn more about Malaysian history and culture.

The staff were super helpful and very friendly. The rooms were nice, clean and spacious and had a vent so it doesn't get stuffy. The two people at the reception were really nice and took care of us and ensured we are safe and sorted out in all aspects. Great stay! Great experience!
