It was a modern hotel! Nice facilities.
All in all, it was a good choice for our family weekend off.

Nice big room, stylish interior, wonderful breakfast and dinner. Greta, who was serving at the dinner, was very nice and professional.
Most of all I liked the late check-out option, which made my stay even more comfortable.

Nice old town that has nice stores and good restaurants to go. I liked the Christmas decoration in the town center. Bad Ischl is a good place to stay and drive around to some other towns like Bad Ischl, St. Wolfgang, St. Gilgen, Dachstein and Badausee

Bad Ischl is a nice place with enough activities for a sunny or rainy day. Apart from the local historical places (e.g. Kaiservilla, City Museum), it's an optimal central place for roaming around Salzkammergut - Ebensee, Attersee, Halstadt and Haltstadter See, Wolfgangsee, Dachstein, and anything else you might wish. If you'd like to make a short visit to Salzburg, there's a direct bus about every half an hour.
Bad Ischl sports restaurants of any class, try to avoid the "tourist" ones in rush hours or make reservations. But trying the facilities the locals frequent in Bad Ischl or its surroundings is a fantastic experience (and saves you tons of money). Some "tourist" places do offer set lunch menus for about EUR 11 per person (in 2024), some of these menus are even haute cuisine, some local classics, but always an interesting experience.
If you plan to travel around by public transport (excellent) think about buying one or the other OBB Vorteils Karte and in any case, get the OBB Tickets app on your mobile (bus, tram and train tickets, connections and timetables), it's going to save you a lot of time and nerve.

During the day it is packed with tourists, but it becomes a calm town later in the evening. The town is a good starting point for several day trips to Halstadt, Dachstein, the lakes (biking from Ischl to and around Wolfgangsee highly recommended) and I am sure many other. We had 3 days of cloudy/rainy weather, and we spent these well in the spa and in the indoor sights, such as Kaiservilla and the traditional cafes in the center.

Small town as a gateway to the Lake region.
Small town as a gateway to the Lake region. Perfect for stopping by incase you want to visit Hallstat and other lake regions.
Town itself is good with few important touristic spots like Kaiservilla etc. Good scenery especially on a cloudy day. Being small town shops closes by 6 and then nothing much to do as it becomes quiet.

I have fallen in love with Bad Ischl and its “Sommerfrische”! We first went there in 2021 for the Lehár Operette Festival. It is a quiet village which falls asleep at 10pm, but such a relaxing and beautiful place to stay with so many daytime activities on offer. Close to different lakes and plenty of hiking and cycling opportunities. Lots of culture and loaded with history. I will return here every summer for many years to come.

Perfect accommodation furnished to the highest standard. Very comfortable and homey.
The hosts thought of everything as if you were at home (e.g. washing machine with washing powder, dishwasher, board games, phone charging cables, SUP, table tennis, barbecue facilities)
And the hosts are very nice.
One of the best accommodations we have ever been to.
The attractions of Bad Ischl are within walking distance.
There are bike paths and a skateboard park with a pump track nearby.
Ideal accommodation for families with children.
The landlord was very kind, waiting for us when we checked in, and warmly introduced the surrounding attractions to us. The rooms are clean, the facilities in the common areas are good, there is free tea and coffee, and simple cooking can be done in the rooms. It was very comfortable for three days. There is also a bus stop at the door, which is convenient. I will always miss my time in bad ischl.
Perfect starting point to discover austrian lakes, since it is in the middle of everything. Apartment was clean, well equiped, had everything we needed, 10 minutes walking distance from city center. Check in and check out was contactless and worked very well
Lovely place with kind and helpful hosts, which made our stay really pleasant. The flat is equipped with necessary kitchen gear and tv. Warm, cozy and easily reachable on foot from wherever in Bad Ischl. Definitely recommend!
