Czech RepublicPlace was clean and well maintained. Ideal for staying for one night before going ski-touring to the mountains. As we were 7 people and three needed to sleep on a sofabed, bed we were originally worried about their comfort, but everybody was fine in the morning.

ChinaVery lovely unique property. Set right on the lake. Each buggy had a history of its own explained by our host, Lea. Great outdoor spaces for gathering. The family was very inviting and kind and always available for anything we needed. Lea even called a local restaurant and made dinner reservations for us! Highly recommend!!!!

Obertraun is great spot for tourists and people who like hiking in Dachstein area. The town itself is not so big and crowdy. There is one supermarket and only few restaurants in the town but Hallstatt and other towns are not far away by car. This place is wonderful and Sandra is great host, she helped us with tips and idea for traveling and restaurant in the area, this place is close to Hallstatt but is very quiet without the tourist noise Recommended Restaurant: Pizzeria Kegelbahn (more than Pizza) Recommended Bike rental: 311 Seestraße address - you can bike to Hallstatt 30min or take the round tour in the village (very beautiful). in the Dormio Resort Obertraun reception you can rent Sap or Canoe, but dont rent bike in this place (they ask for 100 Euro deposit for one bike)Guest review byBentsiPortugal - Review score10.0

This is a peaceful and picturesque village.
This is a peaceful and picturesque village. It's small enough to allow plenty of exploration on foot or a bicycle. Hallstatt is the much more famous neighbouring village but Obertraun has so much charm of its own. You can take a lakeside stroll while admiring the mountain views. Or you can enjoy long walks within the village and appreciate its tranquility and the pretty house and other buildings. There aren't many restaurants in Obertraun, so plan your meals well. You can reach Obertraun via train or bus, if you're not driving. My wife and I agree we should come back for a longer stay and when it's sunnier. Thank you for this and helped us a lot, especially as we had shall kid and we could park the luggage! We fulled ourselves with food before leaving to ``Dachstein Krippenstein`` in the afternoon. The place is very close to a bus stop which has good connectiviy to Hallstadt as well as Dachstein Krippenstein. Obertraun Train Station is at 5min walk. The hotel is right next to the train station and bus stop, very convenient. Even that, it is still a very quiet and calm place. The owner is very helpful. We left our backpack in the morning after checked-out and picked it up in the afternoon after a perfect hike. It has a better value of money to stay in Obertraun than Hallstatt market town.
