Camden – great hotels and places to stay

This English-style inn is nestled in the countryside at the bottom of the stunning Razorback Mountains, directly overlooking breathtaking views of the Camden Valley.

It was a delight to stay at Camden Valley Inn, my room was beautiful, clean and comfy. It also felt very safe. All of the staff I interacted with were also lovely and happy.

My grandson left behind his Yeti drink bottle. When I realised I rang and the staff were so helpful. Housekeeping had found it and they are posting it back to Qld for me.

Situated on 5 acres of gardens, Picton Valley Motel offers spacious deluxe rooms with free Wi-Fi, air conditioning, flat-screen TV and a patio with garden views.

Suitably located for a wedding we were attending. The bed was uncomfortable as were the pillows. The shower had great water pressure. The hospitality wasn’t great - gentleman was quite rude when we asked about an early check in due to travelling 3 hours then having a wedding to attend at 2:30 the check in time of 2pm was cutting it a little fine. I understand there is a check in time for a reason but when I asked if I could call on the day to see if it would be possible I was met with complete rudeness and was told if I wanted an early check in I’d have to book the night before too. Considering our group of family alone occupied 7 rooms for that night (with other guests of the same wedding occupying some more of the rooms) he wasn’t even willing to consider or at least say “if it’s possible we can do it” however upon arrival (at 1:30) we were greeted by a friendly woman who had no issue allowing us in to our room half an hour early. Have to say we were all glad to have been served by this lovely woman and not the grumpy gentleman we’d dealt with before we got there

Country town charm- fresh air - not far from all the creature comforts of the suburbs with a shopping mall nearby if you realise you have forgotten to pack something ! Great little cafes to enjoy a hot brew and a great establishment in Camden Valley Inn for a Cold Brew ! haha! Easy enough to get around with wide roads , just be aware if your eyesight isnt good for night time driving , the roads are dark The local business owners are friendly , if you are visiting during winter - bundle up ! It does get cold !

I had a garden view room on the first floor, so whilst other rooms have a nice view of the surrounding fields, our balcony faced into the garden and other rooms. This was not an issue as the gardens are lovely. The room itself was very big and comfortable. The bathroom was magnificent, and the bath was big and deep. They also provided a little bath bridge with extra toiletries, so you were able to relax and stream whatever you are binging on your device. The minibar was small, but the prices were reasonable. But there were complimentary water bottles left by the bed which was a nice touch and free tea and coffee.

Camden is a beautiful country town, plenty of shops to wander through and lovely cafes to have a cuppa and something to eat to restaurants to have a full sit down meal. Beautiful country views. Highly recommend

The room and the bed were comfortable. Everything was very clean. I would have liked the outside lights in the grounds to be turned off at night. Our room faced the garden, which was lovely in the daytime but the outside lights were very bright and even with the block out curtains closed, a lot of light still shone in to our ground floor room. Upstairs probably would not experience this as much.

Such a great pace to stay, from the moment we arrived until checkout. Staff were super friendly and helpful. Room was spotless, well equipped and the styling was lovely. Great bathroom and even better shower! Only criticism would be the sofa, which was like a futon, very low and not too comfy to sit on. I would suggest a small table with 2 chairs could easily be accommodated in the space, making the room even more comfortable. The Tavern is also just as lovely and the food and beverages were reasonably priced and yummy! We had a fabulous stay and will book again next time we are down that way.
