Absolutely lovely location with excellent views across the Warburton Valley.
Just across the road was the Puffing Billy train line plus rail trail which leads to Emerald
Very friendly host who provided a delicious fresh juice for breakfast.
The accommodation was spotless, with beautiful rammed earth walls and cosy wood heater.
We will be back.

We love Emerald, we lived there quite a few years ago and returned to see friends who still live there. Beautiful walks, Emerald Lake is just lovely to visit, there is a cafe there also and Puffing Billy is always a delight to hear.
Lots of other towns to see also

Everything from the communication with host, location,...
Everything from the communication with host, location, scenery, to the fantastic kitchen, lounge area, balcony and linen! - it was all exceptional and was an atmosphere that allowed for amazing relaxation and bonding.
The wifi however could have been a bit more reliable and water pressure in the upstairs toilet was a tad low.
Overall just bloody wholesome, best find in a really really long time.

The greater Mt Dandenong area, including Emerald, Monbulk, Olinda, Sassafras, Belgrave etc is an excellent, peaceful part of Victoria, just an hour's drive from Melbourne.
The boutique shops offer a wide variety of goods to buy, from clothes to teas (in Sassafras), artwork, nic-nacs and beyond. Food on offer is excellent and suits pretty much all dietary requirements.
A place to stay, really enjoy and explore.

We were there to celebrate our 32 year old autistic son birthday and it was such a delightful moment for him.
The provision of books, toys and games made the stay for families with young children a whole lot easier.
The whole vibe of the cottage was great! Everything is excellent. The view from the rooms were stunning. The peacefulness around the whole compound was a moment to remember for us.

The rooms (stayed in 2 different ones) are not very big and the bathrooms and kitchens were a little crowded. The bed was comfortable and the decor quirky but we liked it. It is a beautiful setting and has good outdoor niches to sit in. The town is relatively close but beware trying to go anywhere, especially at night, depending on taxis or Uber. They do not service most of the Ranges.

The cottage is joined to another, in the garden of the owner’s property, set amongst spectacular tall eucalypt forest. Ten minutes drive (or walk through forest) is the small town of Emerald and the famous “Puffing Billy” station. Inside, the cottage is spacious with good heating and bathroom, comfortable bed, sofa and chairs. The host had left us full breakfast items to cook, along with a supply of seed to attract and feed the local rosellas. The kitchen is well-appointed, though could do with one or more larger saucepans.
We loved the cottage architecture with the exposed wood & cosy aesthetic. It was so lovely to wake up to the view of the treetops from the upstairs bedroom. The kitchen was fully equipped with anything you needed and a great location being close to emerald town centre. There were also lots of hikes nearby in the Dandenong ranges that were a short drive away.
Modern bathroom and living room with board games were a nice touch
Communication as very easy. It was easy to find, and Carmel quickly gave us a run down on the place. Emerald itself is lovely. You can walk down to a small local lake or drive into town or to Emerald lake. We ate at a lovely South Indian place in Belgrave, but there seem to be good eating options in Emerald too.
Lovely accomodation, very quiet, well equipped and spotless. We spent one night and really enjoyed it. Our host welcomed us with lots of useful information and even a complementary drink. Close to Emerald and to many stunning walks.
