Room was clean (except for a hair I found in the shower) and very well appointed. The integrated wireless charger was the first time I've seen one in a hotel, and since I forgot to bring the special little cable that those fruity phones require, it really saved the day when it started running low.

The room was dirty and so were the facilities (outside rooms, furniture, pool).
No one at the property either, they were in Brisbane?

Can't handle a stay of more than 3days (no room laundry or cleaning in 14 days). Unable to organise it, gave up after 5 tries, did it ourselves despite all kinds of assurances it was the next day.
"Kitchenette'' is a bit of a stretch.
2nd hand cigarette smoke is shared from next door's balcony (and gets into the room, even with the doors shut).
'Restaurant' is the pub next door.

Even though Gladstone is built up and around some heavy industrial areas it is a very pleasant place to visit. It is spread out over a large area with lots of green zones. The East Shores precinct has a great place to relax and takes the kids to play in the water park. Lots of water ways to explore. We ate at the pubs. In the CBD there were no many take away food vendors.

Is easy to get around, i spent 1 whole day but more things could be seen in a week, beaches at Tannum sands, never appeared to have a peak hour for traffic.
Being very industrial most people are working on the nearby LNG plant and start very early. the views always had a smokestack or the LNG plant or cargo ships and train lines.

Gladstone seemed to have little for a tourist to do.
Gladstone seemed to have little for a tourist to do. This was compounded by the Gallery and botanic gardens being closed on Sunday our only full day in Gladstone. East Shores was great, Auckland House a must for lunch / dinner. Great views across harbour.

We were only there for an afternoon and a night in transit for the ferry to Heron Island. We had an incredibly delicious meal at "Burger Urge" there. Highly recommend this for families. The Gladstone hotel was also super clean and friendly.

The people of Gladstone were great.
The people of Gladstone were great. The one disappointment was not being able to access some of the beaches by public transport. E.g. Tannum sands beach etc. The bus system was very easy to access. The 500 one way and the 501 the opposite direction. If you missed something one way you picked it up by going back the other direction.
