A lovely little village.
A lovely little village. It's good to stay over to really enjoy the vibe - but beware - a lot of the shops don't open until 10:30 or 11am as they wait for the tour groups to arrive. As this trip was not a sight seeing trip I did not get to see the whole town, but what i did see was very charming and would be a great place to spend a relaxing week away, dining and wining the days away. I had a lovely platter and glass of wine at Somerled in the main street of Hahndorf where Karen was very attentive. I enjoyed a very good breakfast and coffee at Cafe Assiette, which is open at 7.30am each morning. Hahndorf is gorgeous.
Hahndorf is gorgeous. Not only is it physically beautiful, it just oozes history. There are so many things to see (HIGHLY recommend Sharon's walking tour BTW) and do...plenty of great food outlets, many with an appropriately Germanic character. Be cautious...there are some tourist traps, but they do not diminish from the experience.
