Hervey Bay is beautiful.
Hervey Bay is beautiful. It is a great place for young children as the waters are calm with no huge surf. There are coral reefs just 40 metres off the beaches at Scarness and Torquay. You can paddle out to them on a kayak. There are lots of cafes and restaurants serving all kinds of cuisines. Boutiques and small grocery stores are also along the Esplanade. You can walk kms along the Esplanade from Point Vernon to Urangan through tree canopies. There is the free Wetside Waterpark for children and the free Abilities Playground for kids at Pialba and Reef World at Urangan which is a small cost. Lots more to do. My daughter, son in law, son, granddaughters, grandson in...
My daughter, son in law, son, granddaughters, grandson in law, great grand children all live up in Hervey Bay. We usually take our caravan up but this was a quick trip to meet the newest addition to our family, our great grandson. Plus catch up with our 3 year old great granddaughter. Also to bring our grandson and his partner to say farewell to the family as they are heading off the France for work. We ate at Kondari Hotel in Urangan on Monday night and the had Musical Bingo on which was fun. 2nd night we ate at the Bayswater Hotel. For breakfast on Tuesday we went to Eddie's cafe in Pialba. Walking was pleasant and the views were good and the pier !!! I had a family member 'taxi service' so no problems with getting anywhere. Dined at Toogoom - Goody's On the Beach- excellent. The Aquarium is worth a visit.
The Aquarium is worth a visit. Accom was in a good location -quiet from traffic. Lovely to walk along the river. As purpose of trip was to view a house for potential purchase I had less time than I would have liked to visit the beach and go on local boat trips. Feedback from other guests staying at the Beach Motel told me about their great experience on a day trip to Fraser Island. This is a retirement village overall and virtually no kids...
This is a retirement village overall and virtually no kids around which lacks life and energy. The esplanade needs a really good make over as the strip is run down on both the beach and street side. Presentation of businesses is poor. We recommend staying down the south end as the food and energy is better. Also do not leave order fish and chips late. Most locations stop taking orders by 6:45pm and doors closed at 7pm. A rather a poor business outlooked we had experienced at most locations except for the bigger bars and steak houses.Guest review byMatthewAustralia

Additional living space upstairs. 2 massive bathrooms upstairs and extra toilet downstairs. Secured car park for 1 vehicle. Very clean and modern. Private yard space out the back. Very well priced, beyond value for money. Reception staff very kind, gave some brochures and recommendations for activities and restaurants.
