Big room for the price, easy late checkin. Food at the bistro was reasonable. There was a spa pool we didn't get to try out but would have liked to if we stayed longer.

How smart are the Aussies to have free entrance to their museums and galleries! Great day!

Launceston is the perfect central location to start your exploration of northern Tasmania. Launceston's many heritage buildings give the town a charming atmosphere and it has great cafes and restaurants to try local Tasmanian produce. Cataract Gorge is beautiful. The Queen Victoria Museum and Art Gallery at Royal Park has interesting displays. Launceston is the gateway to explore wonderful hiking locations such as Cradle Mountain, the Tarkine area and Stanley. We love it there.

The place is dead in the evenings.
The place is dead in the evenings. When footy is in town get packages together for theatre and drinks afterwards …work with Hawthorn FC. Get special events on in Launceston as well. If you do day tours to here and there you need shops open the evenings. Coles and Woolies are needed in town along with coffee shops. Older people can’t walk up to top of Cataract Gorge. On footy weekends organise tourist buses or vouchers up and down there. Develop new day tours ..same old ones I did years ago.

We stayed for 4 nights, that is about what you need to cover most of the areas attractions, but overall great town, the gorge is great , worth a day trip, fuel pricing better than NSW, the cheese & chocolate places worth the drive.

Enjoyed walking to the Gorge but took the wrong way back. That was a long steep climb!

Launceston is a very nice city with many tourists attractions there or very close. Cataract Gorge is stunning as it the boat cruise. We also did Boags brewery tour which was very good. There is a car museum that is also worthwhile seeing. We walked through lovey gardens from our accommodation to the main shops. The food options are good with many pubs bars and restaurants. We ate twice at Alchemy bar and Restaurant and tried the Mexican Love Launceston.

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Launceston Grand Hotel. The reception staff and handyman were always so helpful and committed to customer service! The room itself was very spacious and clean. A very great location and walking distance from many amazing places including the harvest markets. Would definitely recommend this place to stay in Launceston
We arrived into Launceston late into the day so we wanted a place near to the Airport before leaving on a bit of a road trip. Olde Tudor Hotel suited our needs next door to IGA store to pick up groceries, Bottle Shop, and Bistro where they give voucher for $10 off your meal. happy with Room all good.
Well designed, clean and comfortable room. Check in is very easy. The bedding is exceptionally comfortable. This is a very quiet hotel, no noise disturbances. Great location, close enough to city and across the road from a lovely park. Perfect place to stay in Launceston.
This hotel was great for our one night stay in Launceston. The temperature of the room was perfect which is usually hard to find with apartments. Located close to a bakery that we walked to in the morning
