Breakfast at the hotel offers a somewhat limited (but satisfying!) selection of options with the staff going above and beyond to ensure we had exactly what we wanted. Room sizes are large and well furnished (if a bit dated). The grounds are absolutely beautiful. The restaurant and winery on the property are excellent.
Boasting a seasonal outdoor swimming pool, The Carriages Boutique Hotel and Vineyard is located in Pokolbin. Featuring a tennis court, the property is located within 1.4 mi of Hunter Valley Gardens.

First impression driving up we were excited with how cute it looked amongst the landscape, so easy to find with the sms we recieved prior to arriving giving directions to the guesthouse. Parking close by for unpacking the car, the verandah is so long, tables and chairs out the front and this is where we ate our meals overlooking the gorgeous setting, I loved meeting our neighbours outside the rooms and sitting around socialising everyone was so friendly and lovely, also entertaining lots of laughs.
Hosts were lovely, greeted with big welcoming smiles, checking in to make sure everything is okay allowing time to ask questions, also telling us where the best spots were to go to view wildlife ie baby water hens by the dam, they encourage walking around and exploring the property.
The room was spacious and had lots of character It had everything we could possibly need, well thought out even had mozzie repelliant in the bathroom. Extra blanket, hangers in the cupboard all the creature comforts you would have at home. it is so peaceful there of a night making it easy to sleep. Breakfast being included came in a beautiful picnic basket, plenty of food to eat ie fresh croissants, freshly squeezed orange juice etc.
I felt like everything our hosts did and included in our stay they put their personal touch to it ie cereal in a a cute little container instead of the box it comes in, fruit in bowls with little cute lid covers. Where they have located tables and chairs, seats throughout the gardens for guests to use and enjoy.
We spent alot of time in the pool was so cool and refreshing as temps were high and to our surprise in the room in a basket was big pool towels another example of how they have thought of everything.
I will definitely be coming back to stay again at The Carriages Boutique Hotel and Vineyard

It’s a beautiful area , with some great wine tasting options. Tulloch winery in particular was friendly, beautiful setting and excellent wine. The cheese platter was really good. Peterson House for sparkling wine was also very good

Location is very central to everything and very quiet. For one or two nights it's perfect. It is a very compact and comfortable room. Only thing I didn't like was that the shower was in the Barth and difficult to step in and out of.

Such a beautiful location, kid friendly stay, and lots of little things to see and do, especially travelling with young ones.
I love staying in Polkobin! But if you travel here, I suggest to do it in the cooler months like Autumn or Spring as it is quite hot and humid in Summer, plus it’s very busy and popular during the Summer period - aim for the off-peak for a slow and steady pace of enjoyment without the heat.

We are still a bit confused about if pokolbin is a town?!
We are still a bit confused about if pokolbin is a town?! We didn't find a 'high street' or area that seemed a centre..... but Pokolbin Village Estate was great- cafe, store, wines, couple of cellar doors & pub/restaurant.

We celebrated 60 years of marriage. We stayed in the Convent which we can recommend. The rooms are large the staff are very friendly and helpful, great breakfast. Located central to most things We did not do any wineries this trip .The gardens are nice, We had dinner at restaurant 1876 close to the Convent and also had dinner in Spicers Guesthouse. Both served great food in a pleasant suroundings.
. We also had a couple Pub lunches, one at nineteen and one in Wollombi pub, nice place to look around and visit the museum. We had a great week amongst some nice people.

Chez Vous is a beautiful property in Pokolbin, only a 10-minute drive to the Hunter Valley Gardens and other main attractions in the Hunter. Our cottage was perfect for our group and had all the essentials for a short stay. It was so peaceful watching the kangaroos and birds nearby the pond. It was also really nice to have access to the pool in the warm weather. Check-in was very easy and the hosts were super responsive, even providing a list of recommended tours and restaurants in the area. We will definitely stay again!
The location is good for enjoying services of Pokolbin. Within 30 min walking there are several wineries, restaurants, etc. The kitchen was very good for self-catering and there was more than 2 pieces of plates, cups, etc. available. Our visit was in winter time, the Hunter Valley is North enough so that the afternoon sun (if available) is warm enough to lay in the poolside sunbeds. However, the temperature of the pool water was a little bit chilly. I tried it multiple times, but one try was enough for my wife.
We loved everything at Spicers Guesthouse. Beautiful location and room, very functional hotel room, great pool area. Excellent restaurant onsite. Perfect location to explore Hunter Valley wineries. Really beautiful views with added bonus to see kangaroos from the breakfast & dinner table.
Located in a nice area (road between Elysia and Cypress Lakes has massive pot holes though) and 5 star resort facilities like swimming pool and steam room. Nice staff.
