After a mishap with communication we were able to stay.
I phoned after the first night asking if another night was available. I was advised there was, and was charged for the second night. The next morning however, there was no record of payment received nor of the conversation, fortunately I had records of the payment debited and had a call log on my phone. The staff were most helpful however and we were able to stay without further questions asked.
Lovely beds, great pillows!
We also enjoyed up to date televisions and being able to watch You Tube in our room!
Overlooking Port Fair Wharf, Merrijig Inn offers antique-style accommodation with free breakfast and free Wi-Fi.

Absolutely beautiful little place. Dinner was amazing. Breakfast was delicious. You get continental plus whatever hot meal they are cooking that morning. Bed was comfortable. We stayed in a Queen Suite. Our little lounge area was perfect. The bar is so tiny, but so unique we just loved it. It is a 3-minute walk to Shipwreck Walk Trail and overlooks Port Fair Wharf. Could not fault anything.
The centrally located Port Boutique Accommodation offers free WiFi access and a courtyard garden. All apartments feature a kitchenette with a microwave and refrigerator.

Great final stop after doing the sights along The Great Ocean Road.
The town has many older homes and properties which are all beautifully maintained.
The Victoria Hotel is recommended for dinner. No parmis and burgers here which is a plus.

The locals are extremely friendly!
The food was just amazing.
The coffee is just piping hot.
The beach was perfect! East Beach !!
The sand wasn't hard under the feet as alot of other beaches, it was almost spongy. !
Port Fairy is probably missed by alot of travellers if they don't turn off.
Thats what we had dome while travelling the G.O road.
Fantastic fishing in the river/inlet. Snapper, shark, and loads more the fisherman told us.
We were there for the Port Fairy Saturday markets and met the most awesome stall holders !!
Vicki and Ken- your garlic products are just amazing !
Kelly- your jewellery was beautiful.
We bought a full bag of organic crispy apples .
The Information Centre ladies were so helpful and it's where you hire bikes !
The Folk Festival is on next weekend and we will just miss it, but they had already started setting up with massive tents and marquees, looks quite impressive! It's obviously a huge event.
We will definitely be making this town our annual holiday destination

Port Fairy Hostel is fantastic. The staff are lovely, Beds are super comfy - with cotton sheets - this makes a difference. Well organised kitchen facilities with ample food storage, prep and cooking areas. Bathrooms are very clean and kept in good order. Lovely outside space with plenty choice for meeting and chatting to others or having a quiet time with a book or to meditate. Indoor shared spaces are also good with a small dining room, Games room and tv lounge. Really recommend.
The hotel was close to the center of Port Fairy, just 50 meters away. The beach, Griffith Island and the port/harbour is a 5 minutes walk away. Everything reachable w/o using the car :-). The room was big and well designed. Persons w/ disability could enjoy the room as well. The bar, restaurant and exit was on the same level and easy to reach.
Check in and out was easy.
Cabin was nice and clean.
