The Motel is located reasonably close to everything, with the river close by and the main shopping area a couple of blocks away. The room was comfortable, although the bathroom was a little small.
Facilities are quite good, with a nice breakfast available at reasonable cost in an on-site cafe, which also provides good quality evening meals on a room service basis, again at a value for money price. A number of good places to eata are also close by.

One of our favourite places in Port was the wonderful bakery in Short Street, naughty! We loved the Town Beach and all that was available there along with the board walk.
We ate twice at the Port City Bowling Club which was very close to our accommodation and thought the food was high quality. Also enjoyed the excellent service at Roam Cafe at Flynn's Beach (also good food).
It's easy to get around Port Macquarie. By car or by foot you can get into the town/shopping precinct easily.

Port Macquarie is a great city to explore with beaches right at your front door. The town is literally one street back from the waterways. Town green is a beautiful spot to sit and watch the boats come and go. There are a range of Cafes and Restaurants along the water that are wonderful to enjoy. Very laid back city, with a country town feel, easy to get around and friendly locals.

I have visited Port Macquarie multiple times and I will keep coming back (and not just because I have to for work). There are so many beautiful beaches to choose from (Flynn's is my personal favourite), and coastal walks. Its a small town that has a bit of an older world charm to it without feeling rundown or outdated. There are so many great places to eat out as well. Just be prepared for the rain, as while the weather is mostly sunny, when it does rain it really rains!

Port Macquarie is a vibrant city that is focused on attracting tourists and visitors from sporting groups around Australia. The city is beautifully situated with easy access to beaches and they have made the most of its river system. Family oriented activities and areas that are accessible to all the community. It’s incredibly beautiful and well designed. Their council has shown wonderful foresight and dedication to their communities needs.

We booked the 3-bedroom apartment with ocean view which is so wonderful. All our friends don't want to leave & all thumbs up. Everything is very clean & tidy. View fm 9/Floor is so nice. Mattress is very good. We all have a good sleep. We'll definitely return.
We've stopped over in 5 apartments/hotels while the roadtrip fm Brisbane to Sydney. This is the best one.
We were surprised that the apartment was massive very spacious, everything was perfect, the balcony was a place my wife and I frequently used for meals the view was spectacular , Sandcastle Apartments is one accommodation place that should be on your list when in Port Macquarie.
