Nice little cabin. Even though it was beside the highway did not hear the traffic.

The bed was comfy, quiet location but a fairly depressing outlook from windows onto a gravelly carpark. No fly screens so unable to open any windows and one set of louvers held together with a towel. Too frightened to investigate that as the thought of it falling apart to let mosquitos🦟 in was far worse than fresh air. Honestly it was only $92 so I suppose that is what I should have expected. Oh forgot to state no hot water at all so I skipped the shower thankfully as the floor in shower recess was not looking that good.

The visit to Riversands Winery was well worth it is only approximately 5 minutes from town. The sunset 2 hour cruise on The Balonne River with Brett of Sandytown River Cruise was well worth it, very informative and engaging.

Easy to get around St George but be aware of local police patrols. It is said they target interstate visitors for routine breath tests and vehicle registration checks.
Enjoyed meals at the Australia Hotel in the great outdoor dining area and St George Bakery had great pies and sausage rolls.
Riversands Winery was very relaxing and enjoyed a private function there with a great menu.

There's plenty to see and do in the town, Riversands Winery, the Unique Egg, 1917 T-Model Ford Baker's truck tour of the town, the spectacular river walkway with plenty of BBQ's, viewing seats and tables, the river weir & bridge and the native bird life. The Australian Hotel, whilst needing an internal upgrade, serves up great marinated pork ribs. The Visitor Info Centre is very helpful.

The deck at the St George Hotel was perfect for viewing the AFL grand final and with views of the Balonne River too. The seafood tacos for lunch were spot on. Brunch at Delicate the weekend prior was a highlight Eggs Benedict with ham and a berry smoothie YUM:) the Handcraft shop across the road had some gorgeous earrings that I could not resist. The Riverwalk is always a treat first thing in the morning. Sunset in the BBQ area at Balonne River Motel was also very relaxing under their trees.

There is so much to do and see in and around St George, Qld.
There is so much to do and see in and around St George, Qld. Brett's Sandytown River Cruise is a must. To be out on the Balonne River in the afternoon is a true delight. Brett's local knowledge and obvious love of the river environment is fascinating. The scenery and numerous photo opportunities really makes this activity. Try not to miss this when you're in St George.
Riversands Winery is another must-do when you're visiting St George. As well as their wonderful range of wines and its " 'Really' Good Port" the winery itself is delightfully welcoming and I can really recommend a morning or afternoon tea scone in the shade of the beautiful trees.
St George's cafe's and coffee shops are brilliant with a great range of food and drink. You will never be hungry in St George. Another must, is to get some take-away, call it a picnic and just relax on the riverbank. You'll have countless photo opportunities, the river and its reflections are always changing and incredibly scenic. Enjoy St George, I always do.
