Beach front property with one of the town's favorite restaurants on site (make reservations!). The staff is extremely friendly, made you feel welcomed / part of the family. Facility is simple but meets your needs. On site breakfast comes with the stay and is simple yet delicious. Right next to a great dive shop (Happy Go Luckie).

Amid the tropical forest, Bocawina Rainforest Resort is a eco-friendly property that obtains its energy from solar panels and is hydro powered. The eco-resort offers complimentary Wi-Fi connection.

Fabulous nature setting, food excellent if pricey, guests have easy access to wonderful hikes, and the staff are friendly. One reviewer mentioned the best coconut mojito ever -- and she was right! The gardens are very well-tended, with numerous flowering plants and lovely arches of flowers over some pathways. Pet guinea fowl wander on the grounds.

It seems to be a nice safe little town, and I like the beaches there better than those of Placencia, for example. However, we ran into unexpected difficulty finding a place to have meals. I'd have to recommend staying at an establishment that has its own restaurant, as the number of free-standing restaurants is extremely limited.

I’m from Belize and Hopkins is a taste of paradise.

I’m from Belize and Hopkins is a taste of paradise. But be sure to have enough cash on you because there is only one ATM in the village that may or may not work and The Taxi only takes cash. The next closest ATM is in Dangriga.

The food and people are so nice!

The food and people are so nice! Queen beans was amazing for breakfast, Katz coffee for coffee and waffles. JJ’s was our favorite spot for lunch and dinner: good food and prices. Other places were good too but much pricier for similar food. We drive around town bc we had a 1yo but I can see it being a nice walk.

Hopkins is a linear village maybe 7 miles long paralleling the sea. There are some high end resorts but local guest rooms predominate. Residents never failed to assist us in finding taxis, food stores or support services. The food was excellent whether it was consumed in a resturant, local bar or kitchen hut. Bicycles are very helpful in getting around. We found a really nice mix of folks. Don't miss the Garifuna music and food.

Hopkins is a small, rural town - one paved road that goes the length of the town plus a few unpaved roads. So, if you are looking for a small beach town with very friendly people, Hopkins may be for you. There is a good grocery store and several good dining options. Hopkins was a great home base for us for a few days as we explored a couple national parks in the area.

    Peaceful, out of the way.

Peaceful, out of the way. Needed to rent a golf cart for greater variety of dining and grocery shopping but that is what our family likes. Very low key place. People are very kind and friendly. Quiet place to relax and enjoy the beach.

The breakfast was minimal, prepared in advance. There was no sea view. The hotel is part of a large complex. I got supplied a bike which was nice.
