    Golden is a friendly little town, lots to do and see!

    Golden is a friendly little town, lots to do and see! Skiing at Kicking Horse is literally 20 mins drive away. We were in town for a bonspiel and the people were so friendly and fun. Recommended stops: Wolf's Den for supper - awesome staff and great food - get the bison burger! Coffee at the Wandering Fern can't be beat and set aside some time at Bacchus Books - it is so nice and the selection of new and used books is crazy! Staff is so nice and helpful. Run don't walk to book your next trip to Golden!

    We loved our time in Golden; it has easy access to the mountains without being overrun by tourists. We especially enjoyed the parks along the two rivers, as well as the Golden Skybridge, which is a great place for families with kids.

    My favorite thing about Golden was how easy it was to get to...

    My favorite thing about Golden was how easy it was to get to many parks from Canyon Ridge Lodge. Our stay there felt like home… good restaurants, a fantastic hostess, and much needed relaxation in the evenings.

    Golden is your typical tourist stop along the highway , busy and expensive, up to the individual what they like. Town was just a town. So much construction, but its everywhere during our tavels this year

    Do not stay here! Rude front desk clerk. I arrived at 2:30pm and said "Hi, I'm here to check in." Her response in a nasty voice "No you're not." Apparently the checkout time is 4pm. I tried to show her a printout of my booking.com reservation and she wouldn't even look at it. The place is old and dirty. The breakfast is minimalistic. The town itself is nice. Do your self a favor and stay someplace else.

    Beautiful city close to some mesmerizing regions of Alberta...

    Beautiful city close to some mesmerizing regions of Alberta and BC. Yoho national park is next door with its gorgeous Emerald Lake and Takkekaw falls. Kicking horse river right outside Golden has some of the best White water rafting tours nearby. There is also the Grizzly refuge within the Kicking horse mountain resort and the gondola as well. Right out on city limits is the Golden Skybridge which hosts the highest suspension bridge in Canada and a host of interesting adventure activities for adults and kids! Golden has great hotels and motels as well and about an hour away is the Radium Hot springs for those relaxing dips in the hot water pools.

    This cabin-stay exuded the perfect ambience for a visit to the Canadian Rockies. We loved our 5 nights here. Golden was a terrific base for touring in all directions: Emerald Lake to the east; Revelstoke to the west; Radium Hot Springs to the south; and Kicking Horse nearby. Brandy was a terrific hostess. She made sure that we had everything we needed to make our visit comfortable. We loved the fabulous views in all directions and the changing sunlight and weather each day on the mountain panorama view.
