A lovely small community on the lake. A pretty place to stop for a picnic and a walk along the bay. You can spot giant blue herons and bald eagles and enjoy the beautiful views - especially at sunset from the dock at the community centre.

The area is beautiful and has plenty to offer in summer and in winter when there is snow and/or the lake is frozen over for fishing. For times of year in between, things like the Cabot Trail and various communities like Sydney and Baddeck are driveable. Whycocomagh is very small and so food options nearby are very limited and hours are more restrictiven. Charlene's is great food but closes at 6pm (or 7pm on some nights) and so you need to plan accordingly. Farmer's Daughter and Timmies are options for coffee and breakfast/lunch.

Great village, Keltic Quay is in the middle - walking distance to Co-op, Farmer's Daughter, pharmacy, Charlene's restaurant, etc. Access to The Great Trail for walking or ATV/UTV/Side-by-side adventures. TNT Outdoor Adventures have a tour starting on The Great Trail, can leave directly from Keltic Quay.

It was clean and the view is spectacular!

It was clean and the view is spectacular! I like that it was close to shops. I especially liked Farmers Daughter which has baked goods and gift shop combined. I would definitely return as they accept pets, just bring your own blanket to cover up the furniture if your pet likes to snuggle up to you.

The resort was absolutely beautiful.the lake was beautiful but full of jellyfish and a mud bottom so no swimming anywhere within 20min We were told this location would be excellent for trip to louisbourg but it was 1 1/2 he drive.far too long with 4 kids It needs a pool and then it would be perfect for families

Great hotel! The view on the lake is incredible! We loved having breakfast while looking at the water. The staff is very attentive. Once they were cleaning the room and they noticed that we brought our own dishes to make food, so they brought us kitchen towel and a dish soap, even without us asking for it. My daughter loved the trampoline and the play structure. The pressure in the shower is amazing, even better than at home! We felt like in spa.

We travelled by UTV/ Side-by-side from Troy at the Causeway and return with TNT Outdoor Adventures on a custom trail tour. The cottage had everything, exceeded our expectations and had a spectacular view. We utilized the main lodge - excellent gathering place with pool table, games, & music. Our hosts Randy & Sheila are friendly, helpful & provide wonderful service. Definate value for your money, it's a piece of paridise on Whycocomagh Bay!

The Aberdeen Motel provided a reasonable base in a fantastic location. From Whycocomagh, we were able to access all of Cape Breton's many attractions within day trips - from the Cabot Trail Highlands to Glace Bay near the Port of Sydney. The Miner's Museum in Glace Bay was particularly compelling. If you want fancy, the Aberdeen is not for you. If you want basic at a good price, then the Aberdeen is a valid choice.

We stayed in the full family room (sleeps 6). Beds are comfortable; there is a full kitchen with all appliances, utensils and dishs/pans. The manager is very friendly. Two large ceiling fans, as well as an air conditioner. Hotel is pet friendly.

The hotel was in a great location to finish off the Cabot trail. Staff were very friendly and welcoming. Rooms were clean. You can tell they have been painting and upgrading recently.
