Finding a luxury hotel in Kinshasa is not particularly challenging, with new establishments being constructed all the time. However, I was especially impressed during my first stays at the Hotel Royal, primarily due to the professionalism of the staff. Joanna at the reception, in particular, has always left a remarkable impression.
I have tried several other hotels in Kinshasa, including five-star establishments, but have encountered various issues, including incidents where staff fraudulently deducted money from my credit card without authorization. Ultimately, I decided to return to Hotel Royal.
As a golfer, I was pleasantly surprised when the hotel management recently offered me a complimentary round at the Kinshasa Golf Club, fully covered by them. I will definitely be returning to this hotel in the future.

Absolutely exceptional place to stay in Kinshasa. Stay here and only here if you have the opportunity! The best hotel in DR of the Congo by any indicator. Restaurant is the best in the city, the pool is the best in the city, gym is the best in the city. Clean, tranquil, comfortable, well-equipped rooms and executive lounge. Everything for 10 of 10.

I liked the fact that the hotel is in the city center's administrative area (Gombe), and in an area which is safe and neat. It is on a branch off from the 30th June Boulevard and less than 5 minutes walk from it. More precisely, it is just behind the National Security Office (CNSS) which is on that Boulevard. I also liked the fact that there are several restaurants around. Supermarkets are just 15 minutes away on foot from the hotel.

I liked the bubbly atmosphere of Kinshasa
Les “KINOIS” are very helpful
What I did not like was the endless TRAFFIC JAMS!
Almost diabolical! I was in heaven while I was within my hotel and in hell when I decided to venture outside! I mean
You cannot move easily. It took us 2hours to reach Kitambo
From boulevard du 30 juin.
Take heavy traffic away, and Kinshasa is a gem plus, there
Is dirt in the same boulevard, there is no pedestrian crossing like in Europe (a real challenge when crossing)
A lot to be done regarding cleanliness I mean this The capital city?

I've been to the capitals of 179 countries.
I've been to the capitals of 179 countries. Kinshasa is the ugliest, dirtiest, most corrupt city I've ever visited. If you're a mzungu, you can count on rude treatment and people -- especially police and local officials -- to take advantage of you. Spend your time in Kigali, Kampala, Joburg, Capetown, Nairobi, Mombasa or Dar Es Salaam. Avoid Kinshasa at all costs. The photos I've posted here are from the nicest part of town.

My favourite restaurant was Limoncello.
My favourite restaurant was Limoncello. Nice vibe and good food.
I also went to eat typical Congolese food at Taboo. Service is very slow but good food.
It is not very easy to move around Kinshasa. Traffic is a nightmare.

Kinshasa is à big city but lacks good transport, and there is a lot of traffic almost at each angle and this lets navigating through the city not good. The Congo River nice to see, but not accessible.
