The Grand Resort Bad Ragaz is a first-class spa hotel located just an hour’s drive from Zurich, amid the foothills of the Alps in Eastern Switzerland.

The spa facilities were exceptional and entirely our reason for coming. We also enjoyed the service and most particularly because we rolled up to the hotel in a cheap rental car, spilled into the lobby with our backpacks and our box of pizza, and the staff did not break stride. They greeted our Canadian casual with the same impeccable detail as they did the well dressed man in the Ferrari who arrived minutes later.

Located in Bad Ragaz, 13 miles from Salginatobel Bridge, Palais Bad Ragaz has accommodations with a garden, private parking, a terrace and a restaurant.

I booked a suite for myself. Loved that it was quite big enough and the view outside were part of the Heidi mountains. At first, the coffee machine wasnt working and water was stuck in the sink but that all were fixed after talking to house keeping. Everyone was good except the lady manager at Olives Do’r. Maybe she has a problem with young influencers but idk.

Bad Ragaz: A Renowned Spa Destination

Bad Ragaz: A Renowned Spa Destination Nestled in the Swiss Alps, Bad Ragaz is famous for its thermal springs and world-class wellness retreats. The town’s Tamina Therme offers beutifully designed thermal baths sourced from the nearby Tamina Gorge, a tradition dating back to the Middle Ages. Beyond its spa culture, Bad Ragaz boasts stunning alpine scenery, a golf course , and a charming village atmosphere.

The location in a valley at 500m, surrounded by peaks reaching 2,500m, was great. Unfortunately the Tamina hot springs up the gorge, and the gorge itself, were closed, but I did manage to catch the last day of the season at Heidiland, a charming place. The mineral springs spa is fabulous, where you can enjoy every type of pool, steam room, sauna, jacuzzi, and water massages, and, of course, it is immaculately clean and well organised. The tourist tax in Bad Ragaz is a hefty 4.60CHF per night. I found the locals rather cold and snobby. It's a nice place to go to if you like the spa. I did not eat out so cannot recommend restaurants. Sorry. The public transport, like everywhere in Switzerland, is excellent but buses only run once per hour.

    Small town with all facilities.

Small town with all facilities. Easy access from the A13 motorway or by rail from Zurich. Access on foot to the Tamina gorge and Alt Bad Pfeffers (1h) definitely worth a visit. The nearby Giessen Park alongside the Rhine is great for exercise. Thermal baths at The Grand Hotel open to visitors (£££). Many bars and restaurants boutique shops and small supermarkets. Within walking distance of the Buendner Herrschaft wine growing villages (Heidiland)

Bad Ragaz is a lovely little town with an excellent spa.

Bad Ragaz is a lovely little town with an excellent spa. Everything very close, spas and hotels and services. Station not far from the city center with excellent and frequent public connections. This allows you to reach bad ragaz without a car and to move by public transport or on foot in the city center. I dined at the restaurant verve by Sven at the grand hotel in Bad Ragaz. Excellent restaurant with impeccable service. Had a pleasant and relaxing weekend. Definitely to be repeated.

Bad Ragaz is a small and boring Swiss village.

Bad Ragaz is a small and boring Swiss village. There's nothing to do there but it could be a base for mountain trekking and visit to Heidiland. There is a big good club for those who like it, and a thermal center, nice but not worthy a trip in itself. Eating around is usually expensive and not interesting, at least for an Italian. Furthermore all places close at 22:00, which make it difficult to have dinner for those who come from southern Europe. There only one pub open til 23:00, the Thömsn's National Pub, which has some nice beers and some snacks. We had dinner at Gladys in the golf club, strangely with prices below the average but kind waitresses and genuine food.

"We had a wonderful one-night stay at Schloss Hotel Bad Ragaz while travelling home from Scuol. Our family room was comfortable and well-appointed, providing a perfect stopover. We especially enjoyed the wellness centre, which offered a relaxing break after our journey. For dinner, we dined at the hotel restaurant, where a delicious Indian buffet—apparently a local highlight—was served. The next morning, breakfast was beautifully presented as a buffet, offering a great start to our day. Overall, a lovely and refreshing stay!"

This is a very convenient apartment, the location is very good for those who want to be close to the nature, it is a good starting point for hiking but also to visit Bad Ragaz or mountain Pizol. Just a few steps away there is a restaurant, pool, small shop. The apartment has enough space, there are multiple rooms, more equipment than we actually needed, enough towels, coffee, etc. It is very quite, it is relaxing to watch the mountains from one of the terraces. You can park your car next to the building or in the garage.

The Junior Suite is amazing - the room layout and size give the feel of an even more luxurious hotel. The bathtub is just exceptional and the bed extremely comfortable. Now the breakfast… out of this world! Great choice of bread, pastries, nuts, fruit, cold cuts and cheeses. We really enjoyed our short weekend stay and will definitely be back!
