This was the perfect place to stay while hiking in the Cimalmotto and Bosco Gurin area of Valle Maggia. It was on both the 313 and 312 bus routes up the valley so easy to get around without a car. Our host Pablo was so friendly and obliging. We brought our own food with us from the Coop in Cevio and we loved the warm cozy kitchen where we could eat. I rate this place 10 out of 10, not because of the gold plated taps and marble bathroom, but because it suited us perfectly as hikers.

Lovely staff, great food and the private sauna downstairs was the best (sauna usage costs extra). A very early check-in due to the bad weather was no problem. Pet friendly hotel.

The staff were wonderful, the bedroom and the hotel are historical, complete with creaky floors. The breakfast was simple continental, but completely sufficient. The hotel is in the second-to-last village in a dead-end valley at the very end of Switzerland. Only come here if you like quiet surroundings with lots of wilderness hiking possibilities.
We stayed at Casa Sonnenberg couple of times already and it is a lovely apartment in the midst of Bosco Gurin. It has a garden attached as well as a tiny balcony. The kitchen is good equiped and towels are offered.
