You get what you pay for, and the hotel's offerings reflect the price. That being said, the hotel is spotless! My well-sized en-suite room overlooked the beautiful Walensee, and I even had access to a spacious garden—perhaps they gave me this room because of my dog? The hotel restaurant was excellent—nice atmosphere, efficient service, well-sized tables, a great view of the lake, and a fantastic selection of Swiss food. Schifffahrt Hotel may not be one of the glamorous hotels you’d find in Dubai, New York, Berlin, Madrid, London, or Vitznau, but at a third of the cost, it ticks all the boxes!
