I came to Calama for a day to take the Chuquicamata Mine...
I came to Calama for a day to take the Chuquicamata Mine tour and didn't do much else. It is a modern city with very an efficient public transportation system. It was a real hardship to find information on how to book the tour. The Edificio Caldelco website was totally inadequate in directing visitors on the process of reserving. My staying in Calama was just for one night while travelling from Uyuni to Santiago, catching a flight at the nearby airport. I've walked the streets for a little bit during the day, I felt safe enough but didn't see anything interesting. It's dusty outside.Guest review byAnonymous

When we came to breakfast at 7.00, the food was gone and it took a while for the staff to fill up again. That said, the room with kitchenette was really comfortable and had everything we needed.
