I lost my wallet with my PDI, all my credit cards and so on.
Thanks to staff and especially to Patricio, he managed to reassure me and at the end thought his connection to find my wallet.

This was our second stay at Hotel Ilaia.
The hotel is located in a nice and quiet residential area, only a few steps from the city centre and near the Mirador Cerro de la Cruz, with the best panoramic views of the city.
The staff is very friendly, kind and helpful and speaks very well english.
The hotel is brand new and the room was spacious, bright and comfortable with a fantastic bed. A very delicious breakfast is served by Juanita with freshly squeezed orange juice, freshly made fruit salad, chapati, fresh cheese, bread and avocados guacamole, in addition to the regular dishes available for breakfast. The hotel is well cared for with a particular attention to detail.

It was clean, nicely located and the owner picked up as from the terminal. We also received a very nice breakfast box because we couldn’t stay for breakfast. If only all places were like this :)

This hotel is amazing. Unfortunately, we were only passing through and just stayed one night so didn’t really get to fully appreciate it. It’s a themed hotel with the most amazing decorations and charm. It’s spectacularly clean and the staff were wonderful- they really couldn’t do enough. But the absolute highlight was the restaurant for both dinner and breakfast. Best meals I’ve had in the five weeks I’ve been traveling and I’ve had some wonderful meals. It’s in a great location within easy walking distance of the square. The only thing to be mindful of is stairs, both outside to get to the hotel and inside to get to your room. It’s a 100 year old renovated building with a load of charm including the 100 year old staircases.

A charming, welcoming little town that serves as a base for excursions to Torres del Paine and either the King or Magellan penguins. It is a pleasant and quiet place with great coffee shops (Tapiz and History of Coffee among others) which have great cakes and delicious coffee, and restaurants (La Marmita and La Casa de Doña María) with excellent food at a reasonable price.

The town has a very pleasant and laid back atmosphere, and the people are polite and smiling. It is a very windswept place (literally!) at pretty much the end of the world - about as far south as you come in Chile and still be on the South American continent. There are a couple of intriguing-sounding museums in the town but by bad luck both were closed when I was there, so I cannot comment further about them. It’s very enjoyable to walk (or be blown) along the coastal promenade, and there are plenty of (mostly very good) cafes and restaurants in the central area. I would recommend doing a half day tour 56km south to Fuerte Bulnes, a reconstruction of the original fort/settlement in these parts, dating from 1843; all the many tour agencies in town offer them for what seems to be a standard price of $35,000 (CLP) per person.

P. Arenas is a relatively large city with a bustling commercial feel to it. Strictly for the purpose of experiencing the city, 2 nights would have been adequate for us. However, there is alot to do in the area which could justify more time, for example a visit to Fuerte Bulnes, or exploring the Straight of Magellan and its history, or venturing out to Tierra del Fuego.

Punta Arenas is a great town to stay in for a few days.
Punta Arenas is a great town to stay in for a few days. It served as a jumping of point for our visit to Isla Navarino and Torres del Paine Park and various "penguin tours". Nearby hikes and historic sites were also of interest. Restaurants are plentiful and good value. Seafood is the best! Uber is cheap and available for the city.

This is a quirky boutique hotel that is well placed a short walk from the centre of Punta Arenas. Our room had a huge bed (great) with a balcony that has a view over the town towards the sea.
The restaurant is excellent and it also provides great views over the town.
Our room was on the top level and there is an external electric operated platform to move the luggage from the ground floor to the room.
Excellent service: airport pickup (only 10 minutes drive) and they bring you back to the airport anytime.
Good meal (we chose fish and salad, delicious). Absolutely quiet at night! Good bed and shower.
Totally recommended.
This will certainly be the best option in Punta Arenas for a night between two flights, or just a night before or after a flight, or more nights with a rental car.
Our house was nice and cozy, just like on the pictures. Hot water was very good for the first user of the shower, got less hot for the second (this counts good in Chile). There was a nice kitchenette (not appeared in the reservation) with water heater, coffee, tea, sugar etc. The host was kind.
Sergio is a great host. Helped us to store luggage’s while on whales watching. He gave us also Great suggestions for restaurants in Punta Arenas. Nice chat with him, definitely I would go back in Chile!
