Qinhuangdao Shangri-la Hotel is situated in Haigang district and only steps from the beach. Guest can take a dip in the heated indoor pool, or have a relaxing massage at the spa centre.

It is really nice and the service is beyond perfect.

This is without a doubt one of the best hotels I have ever stayed in - everything about it is five stars: location, comfort, room size, quality of service, view, dining and relaxation areas and most of all - cleanliness. I will highlight the excellent service at the sky bar (the barmaid is one of the best bartenders ever), the excellent food at the lobby restaurant and the room service food. My girlfriend and I were there off-season and most of the restaurants around were closed, but eating at the hotel for four days was an excellent choice. The gym is small but perfectly clean and still equipped with everything you need for a basic workout. I love the sauna and steam room - very conveniently located and perfectly clean. I highly recommend the Qinhuangdao Marriott Resort!!!

    We came here specifically to see The Great Wall that ends in the ocean. First time my husband visited it ended in the ocean. There was no beach. The original wall is now encased as it is very deteriorated. An interesting site for sure.

    I only saw the area around the Sheraton hotel. I would love to come back in the summer. There is a wonderful Olympic Park, many quaint restaurants, a brilliant night market and lovely treed streets to walk around and admire a different style of China.

    Qinhuangdao is a very nice place to be during Spring until...

    Qinhuangdao is a very nice place to be during Spring until Autumn, so to enjoy either the culture and scenic site as well the beach near the sea. We went for a long weekend holiday trip with the focus to see the various site of the Great Wall in an surrounding Shanhaiguan at Lao Long Tou, Shanhaiguan Fortress, Jiaoshan and Jiumenkou. Jiumenkou is already in Liaoning Province, but very close by to Qinhuangdao with just around 45 km distance. We did not even manage to sea all sites we planned to and will definitely come again. To move around in the cities at the coast line, you can easily use taxi or even better by Didi App. The Jiumenkou section of the Great Wall we can highly recommend. Beautiful scenery where the Great Wall part is located due to surrounding mountains where you see ruins of the Great Wall, while you walk and partly climb on the nicely restored part. Very special make the part of that section that is constructed as a Great Wall bridge over the local river, that passes the Great Wall there. Worth the trip and highly recommended. You can spend around 3 hours there.

    Qinhuangdao is a beautiful spot when you want to get away...

    Qinhuangdao is a beautiful spot when you want to get away from Beijing and want sea. Beidaihe is a great spot for beaches. WE visited several beaches, and even though we were told that this year were not many tourists we thought the beaches were crowded. We did go on a weekend. The public transportation was nice and fast, drivers are friendly, and even with the QR code scanning which was a bit time consuming we enjoyed the bus rides, we got to see a lot of the city. It is spread out a bit and depends on what you want to see it might take you a couple hours to get there. We went to Shanghaigou, and enjoyed it enormously, most people just go to the Old Dragon's head, where the Pass is build into the sea, but it is very nice and romantic if you walk on the wall, which is very mich like the city wall of Xi'an or Pingyao, just smaller. The wall of the fort meets the Great Wall, but there was a locked Gate and even though we really wanted to walk on the Wall we were not able too. In Qinhuangdao we were surprised to find many vegan restaurants, but there are mainly in the city center, we stayed in Beidaihe, and there was one far way from our hotel (easily 20 minutes by taxi)
