Hacienda La Tulia Eco Hotel is a recently renovated farm stay in Toro, where guests can make the most of its open-air bath and garden.

Overall, the stay at Hacienda La Tulia was a wonderful experience, especially because of the location in the beautiful skirts of the mountains at only five minutes by car from town and the impecable attention by the staff. All the food was delicious! We especially enjoyed the jacuzzi and sauna that the owner was very kind to turn on for us late at night. The facilities are great though I missed more trash-paper cans throughout the apartment. Also, the mattress in my bed was too soft for my sensitive lower back. It would be great to add some chairs at the nice foyer-like area (just by the entrance door to the apartment) in order to enjoy more that beautiful open space with view of the mountains. Finally, what I take from my visit is the atmosphere of care and attention to the role that the hotel plays in the larger context of the beautiful Toro area, as an ecological and cultural-mindful place. During our stay there was a special event on the history of an international experimental film festival, CineToro, that takes place every year at the beginning of November, and about which I did not know much. Thanks to Ruben and his staff for their attention and for the opportunity to learn more about the history, nature and culture of the region!

First off - this website seems to be getting the community (Vereda) of Quebradagrande confused with the town (pueblo) of Versalles. I stayed the night in Versalles. Does Quebradagrande even have a hotel? No, there are probably hostels in the area but I have explored that area much. Versalles is a pretty and tiny pueblo. Well worth a visit. I had planned on visiting/hiking in the ecopark but the ground was so muddy there was no way to that in tennis shoes. That hike will have to wait until I have waterproof hiking boots.
