Pretty perfect location in El Coco. The hotel is right on the beach and away from the crowds of El Coco. The rooms are simple, but very clean and comfortable. The AC is strong and cools the room in no time. There is no hot water, but the weather is so warm that I didn't think it was required. The common areas are very comfortable and the breakfast was amazing. The room on the bottom floor might be a bit louder as the floors creaks, but it wasn't too much of an issue for us. Would recommend!
Nacazcol Hotel & Villas is approximately 0.6 mi from Guanacaste Coco Beach and a 20-minute drive from Daniel Oduber Airport, on the main road.

The down side was the hard beds. Very uncomfortable. We liked the pool and restaurant. Thursday night live music was a highlight of the trip.

Oh my goodness… we loved everything about this place! The location was just close enough to town and just far away enough at the same time, the breakfast was such a yummy bonus, the grounds and room were clean and the people who worked there were all really sweet! We would absolutely stay here again! Oh! The closest restaurant (about 2 buildings down towards town) was really good and affordable too!

The staff was friendly, however the rooms are run down and need attention. The mattress was ancient and very uncomfortable as were the pillows. Breakfast was good. For the price this place is not worth it.

I strongly recommend staying in the Hampton Inn Hotel near Liberia airport and less than 30 minutes from Coco. The town of Coco is not suited for walking as there are only a few run down sidewalks. Food is excellent although extraordinarily expensive. Weather was hot and sunny but beach was not particularly welcoming with a run down pathway filled with stoners. Water perfect warmth and sand silky, but poor ocean visibility near shore as the black sand was churned up by the waves. Had to walk a long way out to get to water above my knees. No lifeguard and would not leave any valuables unattended.

If you're staying at the Riu Guanacaste, be sure to fly into Liberia Guanacaste Airport (LIR) rather than Juan Santamaría International Airport unless you're prepared to drive for about five hours due to Costa Rica’s poor infrastructure and heavy traffic.

Coco is a great location with easy access to all beaches, restaurants, etc.
The variety of restaurants was excellent with many good coffee shops, in particular; Guayoyo. 2 very good Indian restaurants; Tandoor and Naans and Curries. Both Yummy. The best Italian food at Il Gusto.
The Palms Hotel has the best staff and good weekly entertainment.

The customer service representative Katherine was extremely rude and made our stay unpleasant. She would not accommodate us and would not assist us in any effort with our request and questions. She walked away when I was asking for help.

Easy walking distance to businesses and the beach.
Easy walking distance to businesses and the beach. Not really a LOT of hustlers/sheisters, etc.. We ate local, Indian, and Greek foods. We had a vehicle and traveled to other places outside of Coco.

I have been to CR twice now, both times I've stayed in Coco.
I have been to CR twice now, both times I've stayed in Coco. The first time was a random selection based on a whim travel, but we had such an amazing time that we decided to bring more friends back 4 years later. We trained both times at Playa BJJ and did the sunset catamaran tour with Marlin del Rey both times. The second time, we rented a villa so we cooked alot of our own meals - the grocery stores, meat store, and fruit stands were amazing. The beach culture was great. A couple of us ended up using Uber and taxis - very manageable. Coconutz Brewhouse was great with their live music. El Capricho Mexican Restaurant & Bar was so much fun with a fishbowl drink and karaoke. Tortuga Bar was great. The boys hiked out to Isleta El Coco and had an amazing time. We hiked to La Leona waterfall - not super hard but requires mobility as you ramble alongside the rocky river for a few kilometers... absolutely worth it! We also went to Catarata Llanos del Cortes (another waterfall) where you can walk up to a lagoon and swim right in the waterfall. I would go back to Coco again - hands down.

This is a cute beachside hotel, with a very roomy balcony overlooking the ocean! The security staff was always around in the evenings, making it feel very safe! I think only one staff member spoke English while we were staying there but with the help of Google translate it was easy to communicate. Free breakfast was a wonderful bonus! This was our only stay in Costa Rica with free breakfast - with an ocean view!
The host is SO KIND and helpful. The location was great: on a quiet street but very close to the beach and main street. The room is a bedroom in a shared, Costa-Rica-style house, so it gives the feel of a more local stay (as opposed to foreign-styled hotels). There's also a kitchen guests can use, which helped us save money (Playa del Coco is expensive!!!).
Loved the pool and the staff were really friendly and accommodating. The location was great, right by a quiet part of the beach. The grounds are really well looked after. Lovely cat!
Everything was walkable to the hotel and it felt quiet, safe and peaceful.
The cutest place in the centre of Coco! Laura and the staff are smiley and friendly. Very good atmosphere, clean rooms with AC, clean pool. Breakfast was gallo pinto with eggs, a bowl of fruit, toast with jam, and coffe.
The beach is in 5 min by walk.
I LOVE IT HERE!!!! i would definitely come back to cocos just to stay here again. sary really made us feel like part of the family. she is the sweetest
