One of our best experiences in Costa Rica, we went to the waterfall with Alvaro and saw a lot of local plants and the views were fantastic. The place was so calm and romantic. Alvaro is great.

To keep it short, stay here and you'll never want to leave again. The cabin sits on the edge of the mountain and has an amazing view over the valley and the surrounding nature. A nearby stream runs through the blackberry fields and when the clouds circle the cabin, the fire keeps you warm and toasty. I could go on forever about each delicious meal brought to our doorstep, the shower which competes with 5* Hotel showers (and would win), the people living in the nearby pueblo and the nature which reminds me so much of the alpes. Erlyn and his fairy helpers made our stay pure enjoyment!! I will be back, probably when it is time to harvest wild blueberries :)

The setting is spectacular, almost at the highest point of Costa Rica and we were often completely engulfed in cloud. Watching the cloud spill over the mountains was fantastic especially at night with the stars out when it was cleared and the cloud was below the cabin. You do need a 4x4 to get there easily. It’s up a very steep gravel road. Our hired rav 4 did it but there were a couple of places the wheels spun
The cabin itself is very spacious with a lounge area, kitchen, dining area and 3 bedrooms
There is a wood fired stove inside and fire pit out as it gets cold at night
Elyn the host was responsive and helpful although we never met him it was easy to contact him through WhatsApp

this place is totally underrated. the owner needs to take better photos. we stayed in the lower level which were smaller cabins down in this fantastic rustic "woodchopper cabin" style of unfinished logs.
stunning view from the balcony to see the lights of (i think) san isidro. higher altitude forest around there is beautiful as well.

The perfect hideaway up in the mountains. Small but perfectly formed with all the things you need. Mini bar available on request and prices seemed very reasonable. Lots of wildlife to see right out your window.
