Beautiful and comfortable old hacienda with much character. Our family spent much time enjoying the garden and grounds that have a lovely vegetable and herb garden, ornamental plants, some ancient native trees, and many birds.
Excellent coffee, excellent food, and wonderful service from the host and cook staff. The staff at the Hacienda accommodated our vegetarian dietary request for dinner, and I believe they went out of their way to buy additional local produce for our dinner.
We selected Hacienda La Esperanza in part for its affiliation with the Aquiares Coffee Farm, the largest coffee farm in Costa Rica. The Hacienda is on a ridge with views of the hillside coffee farm and quaint company town. The Aquiares Coffee Farm tour, booked separately, was informative and enjoyable.
