Octavio and Susan were extremely friendly and discreet about an issue I was having when arriving, which I really appreciated as it caught me off guard The room was great, a very large bed, a hot shower, mossie free and clean, the only issues you may get are your neighbours as the first night I was woken with a start as mine slammed the door so hard I thought they were entering mine, after that the security lights kept going on/off, I could also hear a lady chatting loudly in the early hours on her phone, next night was quieter Walkable to the beach and restaurants with a little supermarket a few doors down It felt safe as well

Everything was great! Quite Hotel located walking distance to the beach and restaurants. I felt I could truly relax. The room was clean and comfortable, and the breakfast was very good. The staff was very helpful and very kind. Our stay was a great experience and we will gladly come back.

Set right on Tamarindos Beach, Hotel Laguna del Cocodrilo offers lush tropical gardens, a sun terrace and air-conditioned rooms with private bathrooms.

The cleaners on the other hand work very hard and are very kind. I think there is a difference in level of service between the cleaners and the management of the hotel. We would recommend the restaurant of the hotel for sure!

Very friendly and helpful owner and staff! The room has everything needed. Safe parking available. You can use the pool. Everything was clean and tidy. I asked for beach towels and they were provided. It’s close to a big supermarket. It’s not far from Tamarindo center, for me well located between the beaches around Tamarindo.

I absolutely loved staying here, I didn’t want to leave, I felt so at home. It’s such an amazingly peaceful spot, yet it’s also so very close to downtown and everything to see and do in Tamarindo (including a <10 minute walk to the beach.) The room was very clean and had everything you need, including extra nice touches like coffee being provided and proper dishes and glassware. The bed was comfy, the a/c was reliable and powerful, and the bathroom was nice too. The property itself is also stunning - both pools are beautiful, and there are nice design touches everywhere you look. And the team there is incredible, they helped answer any questions I had, made sure I had whatever I needed, and helped me arrange things like transportation too. I truly can’t say enough about this place, I’d stay again in a heartbeat and won’t bother looking anywhere else next time I’m in Tamarindo.

    Tamarindo is very touristic and the prices are reflected by that. Yet, it is simple to navigate, the locals speak english and there's a lot of things going on every day. Not necessarily the best place to go for culture and history, but if you're looking to meet up with other travelers, or just have a nice vacation by a beach and some nightlife, then Tamarindo is absolutely a place to visit

    This is a really cool city on the beach! Easy access for walking, swimming, surfing, dining! Great vibe with lots to do. Lots of motion...if you're into the bustle of a little city on the water, this is your stop!

    While in Tamarindo we went to the Thursday Night Market.

    While in Tamarindo we went to the Thursday Night Market. It was a lively market with local crafters . There was an opportunity to purchase some local dishes and listen to music. No seating, just walking about. We also went on a snorkel trip with Pacific Coast Dive Center. They combine dive and snorkel. The staff was excellent. Very attentive, safety conscious and wanting you to have fun! We got to see white tipped sharks, a humongous Manta Ray and a green sea turtle.

    weather was too hot for us.

    weather was too hot for us. We preferred weather in San Jose area - Central Valley, and the town was a little too touristy for our liking. We were looking for a more natural feel. This leads to prices being quite high, relative to some other parts of the country.

    There are so many very nice places to eat.

    There are so many very nice places to eat. We enjoyed the Saturday farmers market and music. The night life is fun and safe. If you surf, you came to the right place and if you don't you can learn how on the beach. You will find live music and other entertainment all over the town. We walked every where, and met many very nice locals. There are buses the run to the airport in Liberia for $4.00 per person.

    Very Americanized, a lot of restaurants and stores. Highly recommend to go to ‘Breaking Bread’ bakery. They have great coffee and amazing baked goods Getting around is pretty easy, and convenient. The locals are the nicest with everything. However I do recommend to stay somewhere else more quiet and then just to drive to Tamarindo to visit

    A bright calm oasis of green and water in the glorious party mayhem that is Tamarindo. Beautiful little room and en suite overlooking a charming, clean pool surrounded by clever planting and plenty of places to sit. THE BEST BREAKFAST we’ve had IN COSTA RICA! A nice place to meet other travellers and holiday makers with a nice vibe. We left to move on and immediately re-booked as we’d enjoyed it so much. I highly recommend the estuary boat trip that the hotel booked for us. LOADS of birds, excellent guide and abundant crocodiles.

    Our room was spotless! A really nice room with a minimalist vibe. The hotel is tucked away down a dusty backstreet of Tamarindo, but still within a short walk (10 - 15 minutes) to the centre of town and the beach. I'd say it provided a good balance between being away from all the noise and the hustle and bustle of the town, but not being too far out that it was a problem. The pool is only small, so don't expect to be doing laps, but it was nice for a quick dip to cool off after a long day on the beach.

    This is a fab hotel which is well located for the centre of Tamarindo. The rooms are great - bed is comfy, AC works well and showers are hot. The breakfast is fabulous - a wonderful way to start the day! The staff are all so friendly and helpful, assisting us in booking tours. You can be in the bars and restaurants of Tamarindo within 5mins and the beach in 10mins. We loved the hotel so much we extended our stay!

    You can walk straight out on to the beach at the hotel so in terms of location its ideal. Also its a 5 minute walk into where all the restaurants are in Tamarindo. The room was spacious and bathroom was nice, air-con worked well which was needed as we had 32 degrees celsius whilst there. The adjoining restaurant does good simple food and nice cocktails.

    This was a very nice resort hotel in tamarindo. It’s great for recovering after all the hiking and sightseeing in Costa Rica. The grounds are beautiful and there are plenty of monkeys and animals in the trees. The 3 pool areas are great and getting a sunbed is not a problem. You can get an Uber to the airport which is 10 minutes away.
