The hotel is run by Italians. They speak different languages. The internet didn't work in the room on the second floor, you had to go out into the corridor and sit on the chairs. The internet was good in the restaurant, as was the food - the breakfast was boring and meager, and the dinner was excellent, good Italian cuisine with local products. Souvenirs are sold inside. We rented a quad bike, it's very convenient, we spent three great days on the island

A calm oasis on a calm island. Great location and super friendly hosts. Came here to find peace & quiet and got it. The apartments have everything you need and made my stay so much more comfortable than expected. I needed to finish reading a book, and here I finally got the chance to do so!

This was my second stay at Barracudamaio, which a testament to the warm hospitality from Mona and Christophe and the incredible space they have built on the beautiful island of Maio. They are the most accommodating and friendly hosts that you can possibly find! The beautiful location, clean and welcoming accommodation, adventurous activities and overall experience is truly one of a kind, and I am so grateful to have crossed paths with them. I am planning another trip to Cape Verde, and I will definitely be coming back for another visit. Thank you for such a wonderful stay!

A good location for a hassle-free getaway in Morro, Villa Maris Ecolodge is a holiday park surrounded by views of the garden.

Perfect surroundings for a birdwatcher who likes it rural and quiet - only the sound we’re from birds and the ocean (40 species within walking distance in 4 days). The bungalow/ flat was clean and practical for a longer stay (5 nights for us) and only a short walk (10 min) to the small village with two rather simple but honest restaurants and the main road (to catch transport). The host and owner, Claudio, is very knowledgeable about anything on the island, and can arrange with taxi or rental car etc. He also runs an Italian restaurant at the ecolodge, but due to gluten intolerance, I did not eat there (check with Claudio if it’s open every day).

The hotel is well located, the staff is super nice, the breakfast is good and the rooms are super clean. It was super good holidays and we had a problem to buy the ferry tickets but the receptionist bought it for us, sent them by mail. Without him we couldn't come to Maio and would have a lost the hotel so you can trust them and just relax during your stay. They also have a restaurant and the food is good. The view from the rooftop is amazing and the neighborhood is quiet so it's relaxing.

I met two fantastic people, I was disappointed by the first accommodation, but here I found helpful friends and they helped me get to know the island, the local cuisine with the queen of the grill Chacha, a woman who cooks fantastically. My apartment was very clean, bright and spacious, the view from the terrace was fantastic during the day, but also at night to admire a sky full of stars. Thank you Ilario and Alessandra we will always carry you in our hearts

Odair and Mize were super-helpful with our last-minute booking as our original booking with Wave Maze was a farce. Fantastic location with pool and private cove, very clean, spacious. Well-equipped and secure.
