The monastery "cell" itself was very basic (but clean and comfortable). What made this stay so memorable was the beautifully restored monastery itself. The accommodation is in a wing of the monastery, along a cavernous corridor.

Excellent breakfasts. The serving tables were constantly topped up during the 2-hour breakfast period - from sausages, through hard or soft-boiled eggs to muesli - nothing was a problem. It´s not easy to satisfy such a wide range of guests - from pensioners to kids first thing in the morning- full marks! I don´t know about dinners as we were out on trips every day and had dinner wherever we finished up. I don´t understand why some people complain that there are no restaurants in the square - there are plenty of places around the town where you can eat, with a choice of pizzeria and kebab places to classic restaurants. Walk around and explore!

It is a typical village in the area of Broumov - with many village baroque style farm houses from the 18th and 19th century. Please google more about the villages of Broumov region. The houses in the village are located along the brook. At the end of the road in Krinice there is a famous restaurant (called Amerika). You can park your car there and then climb the stairs up to the Hvezda hill - with amazing panoramatic view (takes about 30 minutes of steep walking - more than 200 stairs). But it is worth the effort. There is a food stall and a restaurant on the top of the hill.
There are several other hiking routes in Krinice - just have a look at the tourist map on mapy.cz.
