Náchod is a lower Silesian border town, which boasts an architectural gem apart from the Renaissance castle: the coffeehouse/restaurant/ town theatre from 1914. Completely original in late Jugendstil with exquisitely designed lamps. Náchod is close to Ceská Skalice with the Bozena Nemcova museum and the beautiful valley where this famous writer lived and which scenery is described in her famous Czech novel. Also the north-east area of Hronov is splendid. Náchod is the home of the Primator beer brewery which is known for its wide array of lager beers, some of them having a very high alcohol percentage. Spacious, well laid out apartment with plenty equipment for cooking and a wonderfully comfortable bed. Great shower and a separate bath too. Good wee cafe/bar underneath which was a boon as we stayed during the September floods, so getting out and about wasn't recommended. We arrived on motorbikes and they let us park in a garage, which is just perfect. We felt welcome. The hotel is not a super modern or freshly renovated, but is reasonable value for money.
