I was pleasantly surprised of the overall experience. The rooms are big and comfortable, the 50's theme is done in a funny and tasteful way, the breakfast is just AMAZING, breathtaking. Perfect if you go with your family. I travel to the zone often and from now on this is my to-go hotel. One of the best experiences I had in a while. 10/10

First, we'd booked a deluxe double room which was extremely large and airy with a very comfortable bed. The bathroom was fantastic with probably the best shower we have ever enjoyed. There was a large jacuzzi/bath but not the sort of thing we would used. We had driven over 500 kilometers that day and just wanted a drink in the bar and an evening meal. I had written to ask before hand to ensure the restaurant would be opening for an evening meal and checked the open and closing times (so often before, other hotels had told us they had a restaurant and on arrival, would find, "it's closed at weekends" or "its summer and staff are on holiday"). This time, having settled into the room, the receptionist (a very sweet and kind young lady) tapped on the door to inform us that Chef was ill and the restaurant would not be open. Sarcastically, I asked if Chef would recover in time for breakfast - I'm not sure I got an answer (he hadn't as breakfast was extremely basic with little or no cooked items on show). She kindly pointed us in the direction of a restaurant a few kilometers away, the Pelzenmuehle Restaurant, brilliant greeting, brilliant food and wine and brilliant prices. Perhaps we just caught the place on a bad day but were tired and hungry and in no mood for such disappointments. Overall, we believe our experience was not worth the price

This place is awesome and I wish we stayed longer than one night. We found this hotel easily and parking was plentiful. Checkin was easy--the receptionist was so friendly and welcoming and we let her know when we'd like to have dinner that evening at their restaurant. Our room was large and nicely decorated. The bathroom was a good size and the shower had good shower pressure and always hot water. We had a delicious dinner at the restaurant. Breakfast had lots of variety and was a good start to the day. Checkout was easy, too!

We have arrived in the evening and the first impression was not so great, the only site we have seen was a big factory with huge chimneys. Later, once we checked in and went for a walk, we discovered nice pedestrian area next to the hotel. It was quite and clean. However, now restaurants open in the neighborhood although it was only 9PM.

Wanted to come 3years ago, due to Covid was not possible. I was delighted, that Icould come this year and the city fascinated me. A lot of parks, a lot of room between blocks, wide pedestrians, in the evening music everywhere. Fantastic feeling on the Wine Festival, nice. And friendly people in the city. Very good restaurants, great regional food.

Lots of bars in Innere Klosterstraße.
Lots of bars in Innere Klosterstraße. There was beer festival during my visit. It was so crowded (in a good way).
Karl-Marx monument (nischel) is marvelous.
You see different residental buildings compared to west Germany.
3 days are enough to explore the city.

Chemnitz is a city full of students, but there are not many facilities meant for them. There's not much to do - the city is big and the streets are wide, but most of the area is taken by companies.
I enjoyed outdoor swimming pool, the cost was just 2.50e for students and you can stay as long as you want. There's swimming pool, jumping places, volleyball field and even some food available on the spot. In SommerPark on evenings at 8 there are culture events.
Public transport cost 2.20e for a hour, but daily ticket is 4e.

Chemnitz is a little town that is nice for a short day trip or to visit somebody. Keep in mind as an international traveler that you have to have cash on hand as most places don't accept any card not even German cards. In addition: don't go on a Sunday! Everything was closed, even the supermarkets! The walk was nice and quiet, though :) There were mamy options to eat on all days, though. The beers from Reichenbrander Braustübl are definitely recommended and the pizza's from Vegan on the Run were tasty and inexpensive. The industrial museum was a fun visit, especially with the enthousiasm of the employees that walk around!

I really enjoyed my stay in Chemnitz. The location is great, only 15 min by foot away from the main station. My room was spacious and especially the bed was very comfortable. The shared bathroom was very clean and I also liked that the hotel provided some kitchen gadgets like a coffee machine, water heater and microwave.
Also the check in very late in the night worked really well. All in all a great experience and good value for money:)
The accommodation was close to the centre of Chemnitz. There was a car park to park your car. The room was comfortable and the breakfast was tasty. I stayed with the b&b hotel in Potsdam before.
"I liked the hotel's location, as there were many shops nearby. I also appreciated the cleanliness of the room, the complimentary coffee, and the welcoming and professional staff."
