Kappelrodeck is beautiful and not too touristy.
Kappelrodeck is beautiful and not too touristy. I could imagine living here to be honest! Nice selection of restaurants and a beautiful little konditorie. The people were super nice and friendly, no matter where we went and it is a fabulous home base to then go out and explore the area on hikes through the forests and vineyards. A must visit is the Zuckerbergschloss cafe/restaurant, which became one of our fave places to go. The Wine from the Hex Von Dasenstein winery is also excellent and well worth a visit to taste what they have on offer.Guest review byTracyGermany

The terrace (south) and balcony (west) were fantastic and the kitchen had everything we needed. We brought our racing bikes with us, and the hostess offered us to stall them in their personal garage. And about the location: we came for biking and hiking and we were not disappointed. Kappelrodeck is surrounded by vineyards, orchards and of course the Schwarzwald. The room is big (as described) and clean. There is a playground for children in the hotel premises. The personnel is really helpful, even if you lock a key inside your room late in the evening :). I have stayed in many apartments and hotels and I always choose them very carefully, because I have very high standards. This apartment was a first class apartment, in which the hosts have payed attention to every single detail. This is like a hostel, and taking this into account is perfect. You can use the saloon for you own food with cold drinks available. Big common spaces to be use. Our 4 people room was quite small.
